It is compatible with all Xbox 360 models, both Fat and Slim, and offers advanced features such as emulation of the AP25 protection.
x360key consists of 2 parts, a motherboard and a remote.
The motherboard connects to the SATA bus inside the Xbox 360, and sits between the drive and the Xbox 360 motherboard. x360key is a full-fledged computer system running embedded Linux. It is capable of many things such as
- Emulating the Xbox 360 DVD drive
- Reading USB hard drives and other USB media with various file systems
- Updating itself and other hardware from USB media
- Communicating with the remote and other external USB devices
- And a lot more! (embedded Web server and Wifi connectivity for exampe)
The remote is a simple yet stylish piece of hardware that features an OLED display and 3 buttons. It connects to the x360key motherboard via a high speed USB2 connection. It also has USB for connecting USB hard drives and other devices. The OLED and buttons are used to control various aspects of x360key. It is also used for browsing attached USB media devices and launching games.

Ya, I was just going to ask if this is something that MS would detect in an update and start banning.
I guess it would be cool in a offline system at the very least.
Also, what if you had your games on a SSD through this device. Just think how fast your games would load. And the in game load screens should be nipped too. I think anyway.

Can't see where it mentions how many games you can put on the external drive?
You can't bring up a library of games on the DVD drive, so i can only see it working with one game on an external drive at a time. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
Since from what Ive read you need to install a custom MOBO there is no way M$ wont be able to pick up on it. I just wonder if they are just gonna ban or if theyre gonna go evil like the fuse blow update. I would think it would use a HDD loader system similar to Wii or PS2 which would allow more than one game at a time. I believe thats what the little remote is for. Id bet you scroll through pick the game, then boot the 360 giving the impression of a coldboot with disc in the tray. One thing is certain if M$ gives no response than Id say thats confirmation the rumours are true and a new console is in the offing (fingers crossed)

The speed will be equal or faster then DVD thats for sure.
My fear is that MS will find a way to ban those who use it.
The new Microsoft console will be released in 2015.
I would to use it for offline and let my DVD drive with stock firmware for Live gaming.
The one thing I wonder from that vid is whats the laptop doing? You can see code going on the screen yet in the description it says its totaly self contained and runs off a USB drive. Also as Im sure many here know all to well just because something hits the splash screen doesnt mean the game will work. Ive ripped lots of games that load then crash once you actualy start playing. Perhaps a vid minus the computer and showing a game actualy being played may be in order before accepting pre orders. Not to sound pessimistic but Ive seen so many scammer products for the 360 that Im very skeptical when I see a new one and go out of my way to pick it apart to see if it passes the smell test.

Thats a prototype, the final is not that small usb box, that's the USB connector, check that black box close to xbox 360 (in the video is that open box) _________________________________________________________
