Hey,
Well the time has come to open up my 360 .
What i'm going to do is buy the XCM 360 Full Case Series - Black Knight Limited Edition (the one with the X cut-out) as soon as it is available. One comment posted by Team Xtender said check Decal Girl in 2 weeks or so.
That’s all for now, once I have started work (probably before case is available I will update this with progress)
Going for Green LED case as I don't have to change all the other LEDs.
Thanks
XboxXXX
P.S Can I enter the case mod competition with this??

My plan is to hack open the caseing to reveal the circuit with sata to usb bridge chip and mount that inside the 360.
Also I will change the usb cable to the smaller one like on the PSP (female) so that I can use one of my many PSP cables to link up the hard drive to the PC.
Then I will take the SATA data cable coming from the 360 HDD and split it with this in its place.

damn! i had a whole long post her but I just lost it.
I use krylon fusion for all my plastic painting, and I think they have a gloss black. Not sure on smd leds in the UK, maybe a UK chip dealer carries them?
PLEASE enter the "contest". you'd be #4 who showed interest. I'd like to get more involved. I'm too afraid to open my 360 yet, so i'm going to do an original xbox, as are the others. there is no "set" date for officially starting, but as long as you take pics like a worklog, just start whenever.
About the sata adaptor, team Xtender just came out with the "XCM 360 SATA to PC USB", which sounds exactly like what you are going to do...transfer game saves, stream music, etc. Good luck! Hope to see a decked out 360 when all is said and done.
i use krylon fusion. its made for plastic and it looks really nice. i had a post somewhere with my controller painted black with blue leds. _________________________________________________________ XBOX
