Hey guys, thought I would let you in on a Competition going on at a PC site I am a member of.
They are giving away 3 custom built high end gaming rigs. All you have to do to enter is go to the site at the link below, and scroll to the bottom of the page and put in your basic info.
They are going to pick 3 people at random. You do not have to join the site but it is a pretty good site for PC stuff.
Just thought I would let you guys in on the competition, would be nice if one of our members would get one of the rigs.
I would upload some of the CrapTube videos here of the competition and each rig build, but I am currently boycotting that video sharing site, but go to the link below and you can see the videos of each of the rig builds (which are 1st 2nd and 3rd place prizes, each more powerful than the last) and scroll to the bottom of same page to enter.
(if someone else wants to embed the videos on this thread that is fine, I just cant do it)
Tim, the guy that runs the site did say that by entering you would be getting 1 single email from each of the vendors that have donated a component to the rigs, so one from the Mother board manufacturer, one from the Ram people, etc. But he promised just 1 each and they wont be selling off your info or anything.
you only have to give your name, email and what country you live in.
The competition is open to everyone, the whole world, but if you live outside of mainland UK you have to arrange for the shipping yourself, Such as paying for shipping and arranging for a courior to pick the rig up from Tims house/office.
Well I signed up for it. I wouldn't complain about winning it
Any reason why they are doing this? I mean it would make sense if it was for members, but not just random people. _________________________________________________________

For the web site, they get to post CrapTube videos of the builds that link people back to their site so they get not only some cool content and forum stuff to talk about but pull in more members.
As for the manufacturers, they are donating all the parts for the competition, in return they get all the exposure on Youtube and on the guys site, They donate a couple cases or 3 video cards and they get exposure of thousands of views from Tims youtube videos and forum discussions, Its not a bad return on cost/views per part.
Also when you enter the contest, each manufacturer gets to send you an email to advertise their product and get the word out. so you dont have to be a member for that.
Its not just tims contest, its a deal with the manufacturers, they have a say in how the contest works, I think it may be a rep for the manufacturers that runs the program that picks who wins rather than Tim drawing a name out of a hat.
So basically the parts for the PC's cost Tim Nothing, and if by donating 3 video cards the manufacturer gets enough exposure from the contest to sell even just 5 or 6 cards, they are already ahead.
No one loses other than those of us that do not win and have a few emails to delete.
