Yeah, how special is it for you to get like all the achievements on a game?? For me is just fun sometimes to try to get some achievements but is it like that most of the gamers hunting for achievements or what?I have like 6700 but not so many games. What do you think? Is it worth to buy a game that you donīt like to get achievements? Please post some replays
I never buy a game just for the achievements and what i do is play the game and get what i get and then when i get bored of the game use achievement hunting to bring life back to it.
I wont lie, it is a good feeling to get them all but it never runs my life for me.

I'll happily play a sub par game for some extra achievements although I know ill feel dirty afters but I'll only put the effort in for achievements on games I actually love hence my rediculous scores of l4d and gow2. Some games I dont even care about the achievements because they just so good like ssf4 or blazblue or halo (reach at the moment).
Achievements are a nice little way to tie games together Imho and there's nothing nicer then a good 50g's popping. If me and a friend have the same game things can get heated and make it competetive in a different way.
Sometimes when I'm playing a fun game say something from sega (legendaryly stingy on achievements like capcom) I dont mind getting a below 500 score. 500 is the bare minimum for me usually. I think it's made some game makers lazy thinking gamers will buy there games just for the achievements and unfortunately this affects the quality and enjoyment I'll get out of a game. Fable 1 didnt have any achievements back then I played it through 2/3 times. But I guess the cost of making a game has raised hence the quality lost.
I dunno I just feel gaming sometimes isn't what it use to be a generation ago when we had games like second sight, psi ops, the suffering, san andreas.
And achievements can also effect replay value, why am I going to bother playing a games story mode if i have all the achievements if its a very linear simple game?
My brother reckons achievements have ruined gaming.
I think achievements make the game more enjoyable. I know with games like Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 the achievements made me continue to play the game. Without the achievements I would have probably stopped playing the those games long before beating the game.
I know a large amount of people that think achievements are worthless though. To them the achievements mean nothing and doesn't actually make the game last any longer to them. To me that seems like a weird idea, but everyone can have their own opinions.
However, I do draw the line at just playing games for gamerscore. I think trying to get all of the achievements on a game I enjoy or have bought and want to get my monies worth is fine. But renting Kung Fu Panda and stomaching it just for the achievements is not worth it to me. At that point the achievements are the only reason your playing the game, and that's not what gaming is about. Your suppose to enjoy a game, and achievements on a good game add to the experience. _________________________________________________________

Well put it this way, without achievements i would probably play through most games once and then shelf them.. hahah.. Achievements do make alot of the boring games alot more enjoyable i must admit.
I used to be addicted to achievements when they first come out but once i got to about 20k i got bored and just went back to my normal multiplayer games.

I have like a rule. First you complete the single player. After that play multiplayer. Madden is the only game that i found "fun" to make to achievements but i gotta agree itīs not bad having a gamerscore pooped up.
btw, i gotta fix those zombie achievements on black ops... lol
I am one of a rare few who doesn't play a really bad game to get achievements. My 20,000 gamerscore truly originates from just playing the games I enjoy and when I get done with the game and I find out about some achievement that I missed I usually will see if it is worth it and then go back and get it. So achievements are nice but not necessary for me to enjoy a game. _________________________________________________________

I like the idea of achievements it does bring an extra level to the game and sometimes they are fun to get.
Don't live for them but do enjoy getting them and helping others get them.
