sounds like the over heat protection method is kicking in.but this can all be cuased by bad solder joints around the gpu you should try fixing those a few people have posted methods on here of how they did it so look into those or you can take it to someone to have it done.id try that but there is no garuntes.theres a chance your xbox has just reached the end of its life.but try fixing the solider ether yourself or take it to someone and make shure there is enough thermal compound on the gpu and cpu.also try clearing hdd cache of trouble codes and bad updates. http://www.360-hq.com/xbox-tutorials-117.html _________________________________________________________
So i decied to do a reflow. after i finished nothing changed but i decied to press down on scaler chip. When i did that my xbox power brick goes green when i turn it on and theirs no more error. but i just get the middle green light on. and nothing goes on from their. It dont boot nor show video. so im on to somthing here.
Sounds like a loose solder joint. I also commonly have a Scarler Chip failure. But honestly, I wouldent be applying pressure to the scaler chip, but if you have to, try make it temporary. When pressure is applied to the scaler chip, what can happen is it can be pushed down a bit too much, causing the bad solder joint even worse. So what I reccomend is to put your heat gun on high, and heat the bottom for about 10 seconds in a circular motion around the scaler chip. You should be able to feel the heat coming from the bottom of the board, without having to touch it. Now, do the same to the top for about 10-15 seconds. Let it cool down, and then try. _________________________________________________________
