Hello,

Thank you for allowing me to join your forum's I like many have a desire to learn new and more useful things. I have an advid love for all things that can be modded.

I currently have 2 xbox 1 jtagged and one firmware flashed. I have a psp fat 1000 and A wii that sits and collects dust lol.

I hope I can find answers here because anytime I post I get no response.

So one quick question. You should be able to use the same drive on 2 different consoles right.
What I have done was removed the drive from the casing I have 2 drives I wanted to use. My jtag reads the hard drive but my firmware flashed unit does not. any idea's anyone?

Hi hazard99,

Welcome to the HQ's..
Feel free to ask as many different questions as you like.. We will do our best to point you in the right direction.. Smile

When you change the dvdrom you need need both DVDROM unique keys to be exactly the same.. you should also spoof the drive so it matches if it is not the same brand/model.. You probably don't need to go to that much trouble since your staying offline with the console, so you could just make sure the keys match.

To check keys you must first backup both the drives firmwares..
Make sure you know which one is the original. then open the firmware and edit the key on your replacement drive and reflash back.

Here is a tutorial which may explain more for you.

enjoy the sites, and like i mentioned use our forums at your leisure.

Well thank you for the response. though I must say i should have been a bit more specific. when speaking of drive I ment xbox 360 hdd.

Please allow me to get alittle more detailed as this may explain more. when i first purchased my xbox live capable 360 The person i bought it from told me a usb hard drive was the same as the internal. Being a super noob at that time I said ok. So i recieved a fujitsu hard drive that was once in a case. A few weeks later I purchased a jtag when i found out what they could do.

Learning that I needed a xbox 360 hdd to use Dlc content I purchased a 120 gig drive.I quickly dismantled the hdd as I void all my warranties lol. I then replaced the 120 with the 20 on because I was sure I wouldnt be using all that much dlc. I then set up the 120 to use as a external drive like I had been doing before.

More recently a friend invited me to play halo reach firefighter. It then told me I couldnt play cause didnt have a proper hdd.So then I moved the jtag 20gig to use upon my xbox live uint.

To my dismay the drive refuses to show up at all. both drives work on the jtag. So now I am think i will need to buy another hdd just for dlc content

What do you all think ? any suggesting. btw thank you for having me on the forums

im pretty darn sure that since the last update your able to use usb hard drives for dlc, installing games to it, to store your gamerprofile etc.

You have 2 360's correct? With the non jtagged xbox live one, grab yourself a 4gb/8gb/16gb flash drive, stick into the xbox goto settings, then memory settings your flash drive should show up there all you have to do is format it for use with the xbox 360 and you can store game saves, dlc etc on it. The limitations are these - you can only format upto 16gb per device so if you had a 500gb hard drive, it would only format 16gb for use with the 360, im unsure how this would effect any data already on the harddrive. You can use 2 devices at once giving you a maximum storage of 32gbs via this method.

So yeah its totally possible to use a usb drive for dlc...thats exactly what im using at the moment as i currently dont have an official xbox 360 hard drive.

Yes I do have 2 xbox's 1 jtagged and the other a live unit. The jtagged primarly uses the standard xbox 360 hdd and the live unit primarly uses an 8gig flash drive.

The statement that you said got me thinking. I think I know why I couldnt play now. Its the same problem that people with the 4gb 360 slim's are having. There is just not enough space for that halo reach. Right now I only allow the xbox to use 4gigs of that flash drive. If my theory is correct I just need to make it bigger and it will work. I am not with my xbox atm but if someone gets a wild hair maybe they can test. This would be good for other noobs who are wondering the same.

hey hazard99,

did you have any luck?? If you haven't i might shoot LegandaryFire an email/pm on HQ and see if he has any input.

He is pretty switched on with the JtAGS etc.. I myself have only had one JTAG (when the very first hack came out) and it didn't last long, so i didn't get to check out much.. Only some emulators.

im looking into modding another soon, i just gotta find one with the right dash for the right price.. hhaha

anyway, let us know how u go.. i will shoot legendaryfire a pm now.

enjoy the sites,

Hey, the JTAG exploit allows your Xbox 360 to read any SATA 2.5" hard drive and disables hard drive firmware checks. So are you sure the firmware on the hard drive has been flashed correctly? What model of hard drive do you have?

Does the hard drive literally say Fujistu on it, or is that what it is identified through the firmware?

Thats what they literally say on them. what Im going to try and do is re-write the firmware for the 20 gig and see if the online xbox will use it for halo reach.

I know ive seen the software just gotta find it now. thanks for all the help so far.
