I've become kind of confused about something.
Is it possible to mod an Xbox 360 (hard or soft) and use an external HDD connected through USB (or another way??) to play backup games so DVD's are circumvented totally?
I've seen some articles/tutorials saying its possible but then I saw something that made me think it was outdated and I couldn't figure out what mod they were talking about... O_O

Ello Roarke

Welcome to the forum.

At present, it is only possible to boot games from a hard drive without the use of the dvd if you have a jtagged xbox 360. In order to jtag it you need a dashboard version of 7199 (or something like that) or lower. If your dashboard version is 8000 and something, then it is not possible.

You can currently copy the games to a hard drive and boot them using the dvd (dvd is only used to boot, then game runs from the hard drive).

You can install a usb hard drive but it can be no bigger than 16gb.

This sort of thing is currently available on the PS3 though, but i never said that Wink
