Hey Everyone!!
don't have a 360 yet but on the verge of buying one asap!! can't wait!!!!!
Quick question... can your xbox 360 be banned or traced when connected to xbox live??
There are some good deals out there for new 360's on ebay as well as in my local paper. I would never purchase one if I knew it was stollen but of course they're all gonna tell you these are legit and all you can can do is take their word for it. (Couple guys even say they can provide reciepts but you still never know.)
So lets say you purchase one of these. If it happens to be ripped off from somewhere (but you don't know this), can they find out that you're using a stollen maching and trace your xbox and ban you from xbox live??? or even come knocking on your door???
Please don't take me the wrong way Again, I'm NOT looking to purchase an illegal xbox, just trying to save a couple hundered $$$ and if it's legit, why not save some $$

Personally i would always ask for a recepit from the person just incase that is the problem..
I doubt very much that M$ would track serial numbers and disable them.
I already know of a few guys who have gotten their xbox 360's stolen and nothing has happened..
As long as you have a receipt from the person you purchase the 2nd hand xbox 360 unit from i wouldnt have a problem.
Since you know some guys I'm sure it's all good. I didn't think it would be a problem but wanted to double check. I'd hate to get one and find out that i can't get on live... this is my main concern.
I was a little concerned about this cause I was thinking back to the original xbox and going live with your mod chip enabled... your machine gets banned, right?? (maybe this is not the case anymore?? it's been a couple years since I've kept up with all the modding stuff)

hey, i would just like to say good to hear more people going for 360. and to your question no you will not got traced or banned i bought my 360 off ebay and it came form califrnia and i live in nova scotia canada and i play live all the time so dont fret anymore. if you were still worried

does it ever when i bought mine it was 400 Canadian altogether and it was still factory sealed all the stuff was bagged and i even go a free madden 06. it was great!

Got my 360 this last weekend and found a great deal!!!
So after looking around ebay for a couple weeks, I decided that winning an actual auction is about the only way you're really gonna get a good deal. Anything "buy it now" didn't really seem too great after you take shipping (and for me, exchange rate to CDN$$) into consideration... only save a couple bucks. Might as well just go to a store so you don't have to wait.
Anyways, if you're looking for a 360 and are lucky enough to get there before they run out, Walmart has a great deal on right now!!! In Canada the premium system is $499 everywhere. At Walmart the new premium packge is on for $447 and you get 2 games instead of one!!!! you get PGR3 AND NHL2K7 (which I immediately took out of the box and ran accross the parking lot and traded in for EA NHL 2007) plus 3 months gold live and 1250 live points and of course the wireless controller, HD cables, hard drive and headset.
