Hey, my 360 is getting a crazy hot temperature. I was trying out Toy Story 3 for a max of 15 mintues, and I get GPU 94.1C, CPU 82.5 as my temperatures. Why is my console getting so hot? I am running the Talismoon Whisper fans so I am wondering what is causing the extreme heat. I launched up FreeStyle and changed the fans speed to 100%, that made it go from a 94.1C to 80.1C (GPU). Could it be the thermal paste getting dry? _________________________________________________________

I thought that was a common problem with the xenon motherboards. Some people install a fan infront of the heatsinks (at the front of the xbox) to blow air through them. Not sure if doing something like that would help. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

Hmm, yeah, I am not to sure at the moment, I am thinking about maybe pulling off the 12v mod, but I am allready sharing power with the LED Lights. Do yah think there would still be enough power for the DVD Drive? It also is running the first heatsink generation, and I do have another Xenon with the Heatsink 2nd Generation, maybe I could switch them. _________________________________________________________

I think it could be because it has no XClamps to keep the heatsink tightly together.
You have to have something holding the heat sinks down, whether it be the x-clamps or screws, you gotta have something to force contact. Otherwise it will make a horrible connection with the thermal paste. _________________________________________________________

Yeah, I don't think it does have screws in, but I am not guarentee, I bought it with the 12v Fan Mod, RROD Fix and the removal of the XClamps, so I guess I will have to do the obvious and ruin my GhostCase from opening... _________________________________________________________

How did you keep the heatsinks from moving around? I would think if you moved the box at all the heatsinks would be flying all over around inside of the case.
I have a ghost case on my old Zypher console that has the x-clamp fix on it. You can overheat it and get it to work for about 2 weeks before it dies again lol. The ghost case on that thing has been opened at least 10 times and the case is still in pretty good shape, it is kinda broken on one of the front clamps though. _________________________________________________________
