Hi guys,

Just letting you know that pirrup has jumped the gun and gone ahead and flashed his firmware.. He confirms it to be working sweet but he also mentioned he wont be using XBOX LIVE now until he gets another box..

When he gets some time this weekend he is going to sit down and write up a small tutorial for all those users who are interested in performing the mod so you can backuup your ORIGINAL 360 Games..

I know there are several members here on 360-hq who will love this as they have had nothing but problems with their original games that cost a fortune and end up cracking or get scratches..

this will save you some money guys.. Just buy your games and back them up..

Keep the original safe and let the kids and your friends throw the backups around then.. heheh

anyway, feel free to post a reply.. Let us know if your going to do it or wait..

Im personally looking into the dual homebrew firmware mod.. I will write a tutorial up on that too.

Do you know if using a hard drive between a flashed system and a non flashed system carries anything over that can be identified on Live? Or would it be safer to use a different hard drive on the one that is flashed?

Also are there pics anywhere of a cracked open hard drive and if so has anyone replaced with a larger capacity one yet other than through a modified cable. (I mean back into the original housing so that it looks original not sitting outside the box)

Sorry about the double post,,,,, I got a message saying that I was logged out and that I couldn't post when it actually did post.

A guy awhile back came on here a posted thathe had used norton ghost to copy all partitions and stuff and made a larger hard drive but I don't think it was confirmed. Once I have my free 360 i'll be trying DVD firmware and creating large hard drives.

I was talking in another forum about Xplorer 360 possibly being an opening with that. I had an idea of using a modded Xbox and IDE to SATA adaptor and formatting it with the chip and putting the set drive sizes for the areas that need it, whatever they end up being. I would try this myself, but none of my boxes are chipped. So that presents a slight problem for me. I'm really not even sure if that would work, it was just an idea.

Yup I think I'll wait a little bit longer before modding.

The Dualboot firmware chip is a good idea, however like hobbs has said it probably won't be long until M$ works out a way to patch it.

Give it another 6-12 momths and modchip makers like Xecuter and other will end up producing a nice chip (hopefully)...
