Sony are not having a good time at the moment! There was a fiasco with the ps3 version of black ops latest map pack where users where buying the map packs multiple times without realising, which lead to sony having to issue refunds which they messed up and over paid some people. This is costing them a ton of money as one of their call centres has had re-hire people they recentley laid of.
Ontop of that they have LG on their case as they claim the blu ray is infringing on LG's patents and LG look p****d as they have asked for injunctions and have blocked the import of sony consoles to europe. This could lead to massive cost's for sony.
On the Jailbreak side of things it's being reported on the scene that 3.55 cfw consoles are still able to connect to psn via either f**kpsn or cfw ps3ita even though sony has released the "unhackable" 3.6 firmware.
I so called "hacker" called dark hacker tried to release an exploit he got from Mathieu Hervais, but the hack turned out to be useless information and dark hacker was shown to be what he was...a fake.
Geohotz still seems very confident he is going to win his case and has secured funding via donations to cover his legal fees and recently released this rap video poking fun at sony.
It's looking very dodgy for sony at the moment. Many none cfw users are annoyed with the hacking scene due to the amount of firmware updates that have recently been released. The only thing which could possibly make sony's day worse would probably be an exploit for 3.6 or 3.56 ofw which would mean they would need another firmware update.
If the exploit for 3.56 is still inside the 3.6 firmware (which looks doubtful) then the dev's might not want to release the exploit they have for 3.56, because they are probably waiting for something important like actually new features in a future firmware ie 4.0. But if sony has done an "epic save" and locked out the system I would assume that the 3.56 exploit would be released sooner rather then later as it would be useless in the future and if it's not going to stop further hacks being discovered then why not? But as lots are happy with 3.55 and psn access they may not even bother with the 3.56 exploit.

Damn straight my friend ps1 was a pretty darn reliable console my brother's one lasted practically forever, the ps2 we owned died within a few months of ownership and sony totally screwed ps3 owners by not including ps2 bc, if they had all been ps2 bc I would have got one long ago.
This is the year of the Playstation though according to everyone else on other forums because of all the exclusives coming out! _________________________________________________________

poor sony, they had the gaming industry in their control for over 10 years or more and now look at them, they should have done something with it when they had it.

Geohot might be a genius when it comes to hacking, but doesn't mean he isn't a complete twat lol. The PS may have a ton of exclusives but will the sales be enough to stop this fountain of money? Im just hoping that the sony has to pull all their ps3 consoles out of stores cos of lg that would be a first in console history I think! But more likely they will get a massive fee to pay.
