I have heard that you can download xbox360 demos to a cd and put them on your console. Where can i find them and how do I do that? All i have is dial -up and was told that i could not hook up my console to the dila up for xbox live. Thanks

I Have been looking around for an answer to this for you but have not been able to find it, Other than posts saying it can not be done. But then again I am not the expert on this subject and I am sure one of our much smarter members will drop in and give you a solid yes or no and how to.
But if it turns out you can not. there are a couple other options, both are kind of a hassle but maybe not if you want some demos bad enough.
First you can go to ebay and do a search for xbox 360 demo discs. there are always people selling the discs they get from xbox magazines. seen one today with like a dozen discs for $10.
Another thing you could try (if you have a friend with high speed internet)
Take your box to his/her house, if you have never been on xbox live you can hook your box up to the net and go to set up an xbox live account but when it gets to payment option just choose to back out, it will then tell you that you are qualified for a free month of xbox live, join for the free month and download all the demos you want then take the box back home.
If you have already been on xbox live with that account you can just make a new profile on your box ( make sure you set up a new email account on the net) then sign up for xbox live with the new profile, again when it gets to payment options, back out and it should say you qualify for a free month. Even if you download demos with the new profile, all profiles should be able to play on your box.
Sorry, thats All I could come up with, but stick around for other posts.

The only demos i have ever seen are on usenet. People must download them from live and then rig their 360 hard drive up to their pc and rip it. Here is the nfo from a Forza 3 demo usenet post. The file is 1.5gb, so it'll take a while to download using a dial-up connection.

HOW TO RUN OFF DVD :
Burn the included iso with any burning program (DVD+R ALWAYS PREFERED)
Put into drive, Demo will appear in your games library.
HOW TO INSTALL TO HDD (HDD CONNECTIVITY KIT REQUIRED) :
Extract the included iso file with winrar
Plug your Xbox 360 HDD in to your PC.
Use Xplorer360 (or similar) to explore your HDD Contents.
Drive > Open > Harddrive or Memcard..
Explore Partition 3. Open Content folder.
Import the file "9735F566C530E21088D2A7A812379C4C52745DDB4D2"
in the following directory: "content0000000000000004D5388610080000"
(Same structure as what is provided - so just drag n drop it in)
Plug your HDD back in to your console and goto Games Library.
