If the news turns out to be true and M$ handles it correctly they could stand to make a ton of cash for them and for some of these games that haven't made money in a long time.
I hope they are smart enough not to try and charge by the game but make it reasonable and sell packages.
If midway can produce a disc with 20+ games for 20 bucks then surely they could sell usage rights for the roms for that many games for lets say humm.... 800 points. I know there are plenty of us that would like the right to own usage rights to some of the roms that are not legaly available right now.
And for the games that no one ever plays, make a sale package of lets say 100 or 200 rom sets for 1600 points, just so people can fill their collections.
I know it is just a pipe dream but hey,,,,, It doesn't hurt to dream sometimes.
Still though, if they play their cards right they could win the hearts of a pretty large community.
dreaming again.....
Oh and maybe it just might push a few more sets into public domain, for the sole purpose of introducing new users to what these emulator things are capable of, so that they would be willing to spend money on the popular titles, or packages.
Oh and if they did this with the consoles like sega and atari,,,,,,,,,,, how happy the wife would be if I could finally sell off some of the collections that I keep just for legal purposes. I could use the room on the car port for the lawn mowers again and the car could have the car port back. _________________________________________________________

Yea I agree. But I have to admit, because of MAME and knowing what it takes to run various games, I think $50 bucks is too much to release a single NEO-GEO game, can you say Metal Slug?
I could go for lets say 5 games for $50, but still that would hardly fill a CD much less a DVD.
And with the hardware in a 360, there would be no excuses for load times, after the initial load anyway.
What would be really cool is to be able to get games that run with the HD image files. that MAME can't run on Most PCs today because of speed, but MAME would have to be written especialy for 360 and in something other than C ,,,,,,,
Oh well I can still keep dreamin' can't I? _________________________________________________________
