You probably would be my only exception man.. you are one of my only friends who is a professional drummer.. So no probs there.. Just some people don't understand how long it takes to get things setup for each individual person!

Ive been playing this baby all day.. Near 100% on all songs on Expert + on GH5 and Guitar Hero Metallica.. Cymbals are a bit touchy and the only reason i occasionally miss the 100%. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

Well, hobbs brought it over and we gave it a test drive.
Unfortunately it doesnt support the Roadie pedals at all that come with the ION kit (with or without a double-bass coupler).
However I must admit its working brilliant.
We did however come up with two different ways on how to play the ION kit using this adapter.
The model is based on the ION Drum Rocker with 3rd Cymbal Expansion.
Setup 1 is the setup I prefer. It sort of copies the same style of a GHWT kit. I supposed you could alternatively use the yellow or blue cymbal.
Setup 2 is the way Hobbs like to play it, where its still Rock Band style.
Any other ideas or opinions anyone?

Yeh, im still playing with my current setup as shown in the image you attached.. My yellow cymbal isn't as great as my orange cymbal, its near flawless.. But seriously this project was a 100% success.. Im more then happy with the respnsiveness, etc of the kit and when you can 100% expert + online guys know your playing something good.. lol

Actually, I'm enjoying it a lot. At the moment I'm getting used to using all my pads + cymbals, so 4 lanes is good for that reason.
My Hi-hat doesnt seem as bad as once thought, but I'm still keeping an eye on it.

yeh it is a lot more realistic that's for sure and i bet it makes things easier once you get used to all the extra cymbals you have.. I personally just love the accuracy.
Shame you can't get your double kick working properly man.. that sucks!

I tried to replicate this - but I cannot find the solder points for the kick pedal - I want to add a 1/4 inch jack to plug my Roland KD8 in directly and not use the 1/4 to 1/8 adapter.
Can you show where to solder the wired to the PCB for the KICK PLEASE?
Also I tried soldering 2 jacks for 2 orange cymbals - and it did not work - I disconnected one jack and it worked fine why is that?

Depending on the way that your kick pedal switch is designed to work will determine whether or not it will work with the GHWT kit.
The soldier point for the kick pedals are on the mini pcb board which also house the MIDI input.
Do you have a MIDI OUTPUT on your drumkit?? If you do i would just use a MIDI output cable to the GHWT drumkit and try to configure your kit that way.
The only reason i made this J5/j6 convertor is because my ION Drumkit does not have a MIDI OUTPUT standard.

I understand... Can you show a picture of the PCB with the 2 solder points circled that I would solder the 2 wires to?
I am building a box for a friend that does not have MIDI - SO I wanted to convert to a J6 with (6) 1/4" outputs - I got the 5 pads working just fine - just need to adjust them with PAD2PAD (or whatever it is called) - the midi to usb cable software. But I want to solder 2 wires to a 1/4" port so He can plug in his Roland KD8 Pedal (which is a PIZO switch and should work) I just need to know what 2 solder points on the mini PCB to solder to.
Kind enough to take a photo and circle them for me (probably help a lot of others out too) your tutorial was SPOT ON - and I thank you - it's only those 2 points I need to complete my project.
