I was just reading and thinking about the advertising coming to nxe. What are your opinions? i think that it sounds a little unfair. In the uk (dont know about us/auz) we have to pay a tv licesence to watch bbc tv - this is just to cover the BBC channels, where as the other channels Channel 4, ITV, Five are all funded by advertising. One of my old media studies teachers once said he would NEVER pay for cable/satellite tv as it should be free due to the amount of advertising so in theory your paying for something which is already paid for....with the advertising on xbox live i think the revenues generated for ms should be put straight back into the service and should make xbox gold membership cheaper, or free. The more i think of it the more of an issue this is becoming for me. Fair enough were getting additional services like that radio station (can i use it while i play games??). I can see there being a myrad of concerns and issues. Why not give silver members free gaming onlive but more adverts? If im paying for a Gold service i should get a Gold service!

I think you have some very good points there bomernee regarding the xbox advertising. I think they said it will be minimal and will not be in your face.
Not sure how the tv adverts work on sky though, i would have thought the tv channels get the money from adverts and sky get theirs by other means.
I also like the use of the word 'myrad', very commendable. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

thanks Div well, i would assume sky gets their money from subscription payers and charge the channels to put their programs on, and each channel recoops its cost via advertising!
