I cant argue with that Dart I think they were in such a hurry to beat sony and nintendo to the market they didnt properly test the 360 to make sure it would last
that is exactly what happened dbeal..
and I for one am happy that they did it otherwise SONY would still monopolize the market with their playstation exclusives..
I always said to my friends you watch when all these gaming contracts are over with playstation 1 & 2 and watch all the titles come to xbox & 360.. How right i was and it was a smart choice for the game devs..
I bet you all notice the lack of "only on playstation" whispered through your televisions eh?? woot!..
Shame that ghostbusters will not be coming out on XBOX 360 for PAL USERS.. but thats another story!

Your right hobbs. I always told everyone the only reason the PS2 won on last gen console was all the exclusive titles. I mean the graphics never compared to xbox, for that matter the graphics didnt compare to dreamcast thats why I never bought one.

I've had a ps2 since 2003 and I hardly ever played it. My gamecube and my xbox always got more play time. I haven't even used my ps2 for more than an hour every once in a while for about 3 years.
When I see people on other forums say they play their PS2 constantly, I can't imagine how they do it. Nothing on the PS2 catches my eye. _________________________________________________________

I got my RROD fixed about a month ago. I used the Xclamp procedure. However, for the last couple of days it has been showing up again. At first I would have to turn it on a number of times before the machine would boot up correctly. I tried to use the fan over the sink method to heat up the GPU and possibly fix the cold solder problem. It worked for a while. Then it freezed. Then when I restart I get the RROD. It is a hit and miss. I can make it work once in a while but it is not stable. I wonder if using extra fans and better ventilation will help fix it or that will just be prolonging the agony. Right now I have it just in it's metal case so that I can make it boot up correctly and play Worms. Not sure if it will hold up on a more complex first shooter game.
Any comments....please.

I got mine a couple of years ago, no problems. Then I went to Leonora (WA) for a week and with no aircon it got the RROD death. Took it back home and put in the x-clamp, which fixed it up. Then went to Leonora again for work 2 weeks later. same thing happened. SO sent it to Perth for professional install, 3 weeks to do it so I got an arcade (cheap enough) while waiting for the fix. It came back worked fine for a month, then went to Darwin for work (over xmas) took the repaired unit and got the RROD again. So got myself one for xmas. Sold the faulty one on ebay, sold the spare one to a friend and am in Karratha (WA for work) with the latest 360 next to me.
