OK, I really don't care that much for hockey, but thought I'd rent NHL 2K6 just to see what it's like... it's actually rather entertaining. I'm trying to complete one of the achievements... specifically, "Score a goal on a breakaway on Amateur difficulty or higher.", but, unfortunately, I know very little about hockey.
OK, I know what a goal is, but what makes for a breakaway??? Any hints on how to accomplish this on NHL 2K6??? _________________________________________________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

Im not into hockey either but i would think a breakaway would be if you evade all your defenders from the other team and made a clean getaway towards the other teams goal.
Just my 2 cents.. lol.. I bet its nothing near it.. haha

Hobbs is right a breakaway is when you break past all the defenders and its just you and the goalie-you wont get the points for it until you finish the game,and if you want the penalty shot achievement just play 2 players and have the second player hook you when you're almost on a breakaway-that will draw the penalty shot,then just have them dive out of the net for you. _________________________________________________________ Halo LE Xbox

Its got to be a sizable amount of distance btwn you and the defenders, i think, b/c in all the old NHL games I played, breakaways were from a considerable distance and all sorts of "mad skills" aka luck involved _________________________________________________________ XBOX v1.6
