i decided to take off the case today to paint it and it slipped from a standing position flat on to it's side. This worries me a little because i naturally picked it up straight away to see if anything was wrong and when i shook it i could hear a very faint little rattling noise from inside but upon opening it htere was nothing loose anywhere. if i was to describe the sound of the noise it wsa like listening to a small spring moving around somewhere. does ANYONE know if i have screwed up my machine or not. ALso i turned it on without the case on and it FRAGged, AAARRRGGHHH!!!!!! i hope that only happened because of the case being off, oh please god let it be ok, PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

There is a small sensor that detects when the 360 is standing up or laying sideways. You should be ok. _________________________________________________________ LED Rings $6 (doesnt include LEDs) LED ring pic

Ok, i took out the DVD drive and when i shake the rest of the machine i hear it but it reverberates too much to be something LOOSE, it sound DISTINCTIVELY like a spring, somewhere around underneath where the DVD drive sits. Well we'll all soon find out in a couple of days if it's FUBAR or not.
Hopefully it's not and when i find out i'll post the pics of my newly painted Xbox 360.

I think I know the sound you are talking about....sound like something real small towards the top near the hard drive just moving around when tilted or moved the slightest bit? If thats the sound you are hearing I heard it too....I took my xbox on my trip down south for thanksgiving and when i pulled the system out of my book bag i heard that sound and thought it got screwed up while moving it and was a little pissed....however it was fine....also...when you turned the box on did you have the video cables plugged in....since when i didnt have those cables in it fragged....hopefully thats the case with you...better get some sweet pics up as soon as its done....later. _________________________________________________________ Xbox V1.6

That's EXACTLY the sound man. You say it's ok? Damn i hope your right bro. And yes by the way the video cables were NOT plugged in when i turned it on, coincidentally i rememver that the same thing happened when you do that with the original (and still great) Xbox. As you said, hopefully this is the same case as with you. I'll start taking pics right now, i just finished putting on the first coat of paint. I've decided to go with a Ferrari motif. I just couldn't resist, conidering this IS the fastest console on the planet!!!!!!
I'll post the pics in a few minutes.

The guys over at www.joystiq.com are giving away 3 games to the winner of the best faceplate mod, it has to be fully functional, and it has to be real, and not photo-chopped so you might want to put your name into the hat over there. Would be nice to promote yourself and a great plus, the 3 free games wouldn't be that bad either _________________________________________________________
