Introducing the 2011 Jeep Wrangler CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS Edition
Fans of the highly anticipated video game Call of Duty: Black Ops have something else to be excited about --- Jeep® brand's latest limited-edition model.
Last month, the Jeep brand announced it was named the exclusive automotive partner by Activision Publishing Inc. for its new "Call of Duty: Black Ops" video game.
In conjunction with this exciting partnership, the Jeep brand unveiled a limited 2011 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition inspired by the video game.
Iconic Wrangler Engages the Gamer Crowd
This partnership is sure to engage and attract a fresh, new customer to the Jeep family, and is just one of the many ways the Jeep brand continues to stay relevant in this fast moving marketplace.
"The Jeep brand's partnership with Activision marries the world's most capable and iconic vehicle, the Jeep Wrangler, with one of the world's most popular entertainment experiences," Mike Manley, President and CEO—Jeep Brand, said. "As a result, we are able to expose the Jeep brand and its legendary capability to an entirely new group of consumers."
Brad Jakeman, chief marketing officer of Activision Publishing agrees that the partnership is sure to benefit both companies. "From the beginning our teams worked together to make this a truly creative partnership that added to the consumer experience of both the Jeep and Call of Duty: Black Ops brands."
Two-Way Buzz – Marketing Launch Piggybacks Game Release
The marketing launch for the limited-edition Jeep model begins this month. It will coincide with the Call of Duty: Black Ops worldwide release on November 9. (The game is designed for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Windows PC.)
The 2011 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition is based on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon model and features:
• Dark Rubicon wheels in a high-gloss Mineral Gray
• Call of Duty Black Ops exterior graphics on the roof and front quarter panels
• Black tail lamp guards and a fuel-filler door from Mopar®
• Matte black hood decal
• Black exterior color only
• Aggressive 32-inch off-road tires
The new limited-edition Wrangler will be available at a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $30,625 for the two-door model and $33,500 for the four-door (Jeep Wrangler Unlimited) model. Both prices include $750 destination
Fans of Black Ops = Fans of Jeep Wrangler Black Ops Edition
The 2011 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition was strategically integrated into the new version of the game. "It was important for us to make sure that the Jeep partnership would be authentic and enhance the setting we immerse our fans in with Black Ops," said Mark Lamia, studio head of game developer Treyarch. "Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own."
Speaking of fans …
Can you guess who was seen driving the new Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition?
Answer: Kobe Bryant. In a promotion for the upcoming launch, the NBA player drove the brand new Wrangler Black Ops Edition to the LA Lakers season opener at the Staples Center, where it received rave reviews.
Whether your prospects are diehard gamers or not, the new 2011 Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition is sure to garner attention on the showroom floor.
