I thought i'd show you guys some pics of my playroom, i just finished building my pc last week.. I'm running a Q9550 overclocked to 3.83ghz with a OCZ Vendetta 2 cooler, damn cooler is a huge MF!!! 7 inches from the motherboard to the side of my NZXT guardian case, i had to sit on the side panel door to get it to close. System temps at 100% load running prime95 stress test showed all 4 cores running between 58-65 degrees for 10 hours, not bad at all..

Love the setup man! I've been wanting to upgrade my PC rig but money is the issue for me I gotta say though that CPU heat sink is intense. How well do the quad core intels run. Notice much of a difference from dual core?

Thanks for the kind remark on the rig frozenfire, now i just need to tidy up the cables in the case, i need to get a modular PSU so i can just use the cables i need. To be honest with you there are quite a few games that are optimized for quad cores, games like Crysis Warhead, Flight Simulator X and FarCry2 benefit from more cores but in general the Dual Cores run about the same with games, i basically wanted to skip the i7 processors so i went quad so i wouldn't have to upgrade my rig in 4-5 years or whatever, i know that's highly unlikely though. The quad outperfoms it in the benchmarks and obviously 3D rendering and things of that nature but the price of the quads are so good now i couldn't pass it up. I paid $319.00 at Newegg for the Q9550 Yorkfield, not a bad price.. The total cost of my computer was $853.00
Q9550 Yorkfield @ 3.83ghz voltage core @ 1.31
OCZ Vendetta 2 cooler
4GB G-skill DDR 2 @ 5-5-5-15
ATI 4850 HD
500GB Samsung SATA-300
NZXT Guardian case
OCZ Powerstream 700W PSU ( Older PSU i bought last year but it's stable)
LG Blu-ray HDDVD combo drive
Hannspree 28" 1080P LCD ( Purchased 2 months ago @ Bestbuy)
Luckily i had an extra monitor and power supply or the price would have jumped to $1500, everything else was purchased on Newegg... _________________________________________________________ Xbox V1.3

Your only running your CPU at 3.83 mhz lol
I think you mean 3.83 ghz.

Lol, i meant 3.83 ghz....i tried for 4.0ghz last night but i think i need a larger power supply.. The computer booted up fine but i got a bsod after 10 minutes or so, i just have to find a stable voltage core and it will be ok.. Hobbs, i'll update my gamertag. Not sure why that happened?? _________________________________________________________ Xbox V1.3
