Are the results in? Did anyone get any quicker load times? If so, on what games? _________________________________________________________

I Downloaded Fallout 3, which has lots and lots of load screens ingame.
I found the load times to be no quicker than running the game off the disc, at least not that I could tell. If it cuts 1 second off of a 8 or 10 second load screen, I dont see the point of taking up about 6 gigs of space on my drive, especialy if I have to have the disc in the drive anyway. If it would cut the time in half it would be worth it but I dont see the difference.
Today I have had some issues with the new system, I have had the new dashboard totaly freeze up on me twice today so far, to where the controller could not even shut down the xbox.
Have also noticed that often, when on one screen of the new dash board and scrolling up or down to other sections, the page freezes up for 10 seconds or so then continues, not everytime but often.
Would also like to see a heck of a lot more options in the avatar setup, more clothing, hair everything. With millions and millions of us online, we need more to be unique. Heck, they dont even have my hairstyle lol.
Other than those issues I like it. I realy like the way you can pull up a game and have all the info right there in the pages. Also being able to pull up info quickly while ingame without quiting out is nice.
One thing I noticed, the friends page will show me 4 friends together because they are on same game, but I can go over each friend individualy to tell who they are like you can when they are set up in the solo mode where it shows one friends avatar at a time, anyone know how to tell who each of the people in the group are?

I tried with GTA IV, didnt notice much improvement/if any, still needed disc in dvd.... Dont see any point in upgrading hdd above 20gb at this point for min/if any gain. _________________________________________________________ XENIUM ICE 300GIG CUSTOM DVD

With good time and a few MS point (im sure) they will add lots of options to the avatars and to see each persons avatar individual when in a group, just select the group and it shows each ones name.

Now, if I could download each of my games to a big HDD, then switch from game to game through the dashboard alone, thats something I would pay extra for. At least untill they come out with some kind of disc changer for the 360.

I put all the games i had for the 360 on the harddrive, each of them changed nothing. Same load times and same headaches. I do enjoy the new dashboard. Netflix on it is AWESOME. now i don't have to connect my computer everytime i wanna watch a movie. I can just fire up the 360.
i don't think i'm going to be keeping any of the games on the hard drive because i don't live with anyone that gets annoyed with the loud 360.
i feel the same way about the disc changer idea. would be nice but just another thing to buy along with a bigger harddrive. or at least one that comes the size its says on the box.
all in all, a great update. take that PSN(or i like to call it P(O)SN _________________________________________________________ http://www.myspace.com/discardedtelepathy <--my music, please let me know what you think...

I think there will soon be more avatar options. Like Wes was saying, it may cost some MS points but will be well spent. Also, the games that are out for the 360 now were made to run off of the disk, not a HDD. I say in the near future some of the games that are coming out will play a lot better once ripped to the HDD but right now the it's not doing any good. Kudos to MS for this awesome update. Look forward to seeing everyone online.
Later,

I havent checked out the new HDD load option for the games.
DJB tells me if you try it with DEAD RISING or a very intensive loading game you will notice a huge difference..
I use it for games like GH, Battlefield to check it out soon and will post back.
Also, you would also expect that most games will not be sped up since they we coded to load with music and loading screens due to the dvdrom loading times and never planned for this feature.
just my 2 cens.

You need the disc in your 360 even if your playing it from your hard drive. _________________________________________________________
