the only problem on our old xbox 360 is the heat, we need to low the heat inside the console by using a extra fan.
Extra fan can cause more problems than it fixes. I just had to fix an RROD that came through the pawn shop and it had a custom fan (bluelights etc) that ran about 3 times higher than the stock 360 fan. Proper care is number 1 to preventing RROD. If you do marathon gaming and have the 360 in a bad air flow area you will RROD eventualy. The only true 100% method I can see for a fix would be to desolder the chips, remove all that crappy brittle lead free solder and resolder everything with quality solder.
That said Im gonna give this pad trick a try, Ive got to RROD that Ive fixed a few times that now seem permanent.
And if you wanna go the home made route like in Watevas tut I would reccomend using the rubber washer inserts for a dishwasher instead of an eraser since they are designed to be blasted with boiling hot water for extended periods and the heat in the 360 should be comparable
