First of all thank for help me choose Xbox360 ( I knew it Iam not wrong)
Still hunting. Just got old one last week ( 2006 from Ebay). I don't even has any 360 game at all.
But lucky me , I sold it on Craigslist.
Like brother dartht33bagger said " most of them are Not falcon.."
From my little experience, 99.9% of the Big seller/retailer ( King of Sales, 2ndturn, BestBuy outlet, Etc... they are selling Xbox360 about 10- 30 box daily) on Ebay who are selling Xbox360 refurbished/ remanufactured/ Used like New etc..are not falcon. Maybe those were the defective consoles from everywhere in the world that gotten fix by M$/etc.. then sell those to them in very Big quantity. I've changed my strategy, Iam "looking" from individual seller and asked them about the Falcon/date thing.
I wish get the right one this time, I will have it by this Wed/ Th.
The seller gave me only 3 days to test everything. That is the Premium system ( 2007 Nov/Dec, I wish it Falcon/ FrozenFire12 tut). My questions are: what will be the important things to test (well that is not New item and I only have 3 days/ Iam working Full time every day) on it. #1. Hard drive, how do I know that is Good HDD or not; also, I couldn't find the "20GB" physically written on the Xbox360's HDD that I had bought last 2 weeks ( I see somebody is selling 10GB HDD too). #2. the Xbox live, how do I know it was banned or not). #3. I couldn't see the warranty still sealed or not on the console. #4 The DVD drive thing and Finally, I don't know the rest...what should I test/ do when it comes.
Thanks so much in advance. _________________________________________________________

[quote="Div"]The Jasper is suppose to come out in August (from what i have read on the net) and will have the 65nm CPU and GPU. This will be the coolest by far.
Is that the next gen of 360? With everything new on it? or just the CPU/GPU only.? _________________________________________________________

1) Only the 120gb hard drives say "120 GB HDD" the 20gb just say "HDD". I've never heard of a 10gb 360 hard drive, although with the 20gb you only have about 13gb usable
2) connect it to your router/modem and make an account on xbox live (you get one month free) download a few demos and try playing them online (a good online demo is battlefield bad company)
3) The only warranty stickers I know of is the one on the back that shows the serial number and manufacture date, also there is a microsoft sticker and a sticker with your serial number when you take off your faceplate by the usb ports
4) Put a few blank discs in and see if it scratches them, if not try playing a few cd's when the 360 is vertical and horizontal (don't move it while it is on, or the disc is spinning down) If it doesn't scratch your cd's then you should be fine
5) Also if you are unsure if it is a falcon just look on the bottom of the power supply it will say 175 watt if it is a falcon, like this
6) The Jasper is going to be the same as a falcon just with a smaller gpu (65nm) meaning it will produce less heat. I think this will once and for all stop overheating and any problems related to the 360, but I personally have never heard of anyone having a falcon break down on them, so I think they solved the problem with that _________________________________________________________ 360-HQ Toolbar | 360-hq Digg news | 360-HQ Active Topics | 360-HQ Boxxet Page | My Setup

I bought intec turbo cooler ( two colors; black and Wht ), I put it on my box.
It makes a LOT Cooler than before. I saw some good reviews about it and it is true. After I put the fan, the side that usually hotter than others is a little warm (not hot at all), the disk is a little warm too.
In my opinion:
The good thing is;
#1. Xtremly reduce the temp! #2. Use the electric source separately.
The Cont is;
#1. Loud fan sound ( if you turn the Volume very slow). #2. Because use the elect source separately, there is a chance to not (forget) turn on the fan and that will burn your system in seconds ( unless you always put and pull the fan before and after play).
My 1 cent xperience.
Also, Is there any way to Mod (make it ready to back up my own games) my system without opening the console?
Thanks in advance...

Hey frozen you said in an earlier post that if he was going to change out the thermal paste why not do the xclamp fix. I asked the question to some one since i am going to modding my xboxes, why not do the xclamp fix since the case is open. What is your advice or anybodies advice? _________________________________________________________ aka IrishGunner

Hi Voodoo, I assume.."he" is me. I was planning to put the thermal Paste on the Heatsink if I got "Not Falcon". If I got the older one, Indeed I will put Xclamp, thermal paste...etc...to reduce the temp.
In my own xperience, when I was Modding my xbox 1st, applying good thermal paste reduced the temp about 4-6 degree F( the M$ paste is nasty). ( I have 4 1st Xboxs till now 2 modded, 1 regular, 1 Halo edition, I will sell it soon.)
Once you open the console, you can do anything that prevent you from RROD. Arctic silver is Good and not expensive. Also, there was a suggestion to change the fan too!
My another 1 Cent xperience (about the thermal paste only..lol) _________________________________________________________
