I've been having problems with the orange box lately. It used to play fine before the NXE and now it seems to do 2 things:
1. In half life 2 and in TF2 textures look wrong sometimes. Gutters, roofs and other metal things sometimes are a weird texture that is made up of red, green, blue, and white dots.
2. Half life 2 freezes during loading and gameplay randomly. My save I have right now will load up and freeze instantly after loading up. This has only started happening after the NXE.
Portal seems to work fine and TF2 works fine minus the graphics. Half life is the only one that freezes. I tried clearing the cache last night and it allowed me to load the game but then it froze after 15 minutes again.
I've searched online and other people seem to be having this problem as well. I'm wondering if anyone can think of anything else I can do to play this because I really want to beat half life 2 right now. _________________________________________________________
Sounds like the NXE might have corrupted your save files. Would be best to contact valve and let them know this is happening to a lot of people. Try to be as helpful as you can by providing specific examples, screenshots, etc.
Try a different profile and see what happens then too.
Also question, is the game installed to the hard drive or are you running off the disc, if disc try installing it and see if that fixes anything
I ran my copy from the disk right after the NXE update and it all seemed fine.
When i get a sec i will check the rest of the games like portal and TF2 but it might be a bit since American idle came back the fem has been hogging the tube. LOL
At first I was playing it off disc and it started freezing. Then I cleared the cache and put it on the hard drive and it still froze.
I also put in the infinate health cheat when I started playing again this time. I don't think this would effect it because my friend has put the code in too and it works fine. His game freezes on portal a lot though. _________________________________________________________
Well clearing the cache seemed to have fixed some of the graphical problems with team fortress. However, half life 2 still freezes the frame the gamesave loads. It just happened to auto save right before it froze lol.... _________________________________________________________

the only problem ive been having is with the lag on TF2. I've heard that argument about the dedicated servers and all but my arguement about that is COD world at war doesnt have dedicated servers and the lag in that game isnt bad at all unless you playing with a host from over seas but even then its not nearly as bad as TF2. I've been playing games for years now and have been play TF since the first quake patches back in 1997 im 29 now and its hard to believe that a game like TF2 reputation can't garner it a a dedicated server for xbox 360 users

That's because valve only cares about the PC games. They may put out a game for the 360 but thats it. After that it just sits there and doesn't get fixed. _________________________________________________________
