The guy I bought mine from has an eBay store goin' on and he provided links and edits for tutorials on how to do it and NOT do it. Then he even asked if I needed help, he would give me his Messenger. Cool cat. He also sells some that he's already repaired. And I must say, he goes through a bit more than just the average Xclamp fix. If you're interested, I'll give ya his ebay name or a link. As for my 360's, my Elite is still cherry and rockin' on. The one that I got from eBay (pre-repaired) from dude, is fine too. I just bought the kits as an insurance policy. Besides, I figured that if I buy the guy's kits, he'll definitely be there if I need his help. Oh yeah, they were $9 I think. He'll only charge for the first kit's shipping. Got the xecuter kit, i'll post some pics of it soon. What a waste of money. All you get is 2 screwdrivers (which i already have) and 4 thermal pads. You don't even get instructions.
No wonder they never posted pictures, it is just a quick money making scheme.
I take it the pads are for the memory chips or something. Is it just like the coin trick that i have seen can anybody guess?
I'll have to get some screws and washers i think coz i'm not convinced that this kit will do anything.
Totally off the subject but do you guys like my new gamerpicture or did you like the great white shark better? Thanks for the input!
Its all good either way but they really need to add some pics we can relate to.

to the op do you get an error code on the tv? and what sections are highlighted on the 360?
also theirs another secreat way to see what the codes are anyone else have any issues with RROD? i know the codes but dont know how to repair them lol, i learned by messing with the 360 due to the fact that mine died after playing Rainbow six vegas 2 Army of two NFS PRO STREET

oooh i forgot to tell you about the secreat , when you power on the 360 and it starts flashing red just hold down the snyc + eject its going to flash
in all or certain sections , if do this four times to get a number then depending on the number it depends on what issues it has.
for example i clicked snyc + eject and the first light was the top left
1
then i repeated the snyc eject and i got all four sections red, THESE for sections are 0 NOT 4
so now we have 1 0
again same process and i got two two lights so thats 2
1 0 2
and fianly i did it again and it didnt change so it was a 2 and after i thought i didnt click i clicked it and it went back to step 1
so now we got 1022
its a encoder error on the gpu since i tried switching the av cables
x clamp should work or re heating the chips by hot air gun or towel trick

That is very helpful, i'll check that out once i get the rrod 360 in the post.
I wouldn't buy the x-clamp fix from a shop as they are only screws and washers, just as much of a rip off as the xecuter fix i bought. What size screws/washers do i need to do the x-clamp fix?

When the 360 has the 3 red lights, should the fans still power on and the dvd eject?
Got the 360 in the post, came with a hard drive but that has the e68 error so thats knackered. Gonna send it back as he never mentioned that and i only bought it for the hard drive. was gonna fix it and flog it on.
