so about that free 360 i got.... it has sadly gone to it's gods.
now on a happier note.....
I work at a circuit city as a pc tech. at this particular store the car audio dept had made an enclosure that displayed a 360 with vehicle lcd's and an lcd head unit. well these guys didnt take into consideration the lack of space and air flow when they installed the 360. needless to say after a short time the unit failed. gave them 2 blinking lights that left them scratching their heads. they scrapped the enclosure and threw the 360 into a box where it sat for months. when i had talked to our ops manager about my freebie he said that he had a 360 under his desk that had red rings too and that if i can get freebie working then he'll sell the other so i can fix it. well we know how that project went....
after a few days (today) i asked him if i can check the 360 out. so i took it to the tech room in the back and hooked it up... lil bastich worked just fine.. he walks in as i was turning it off and he asks what i found, i told him that it's broke but i could use it for parts.... 15 mins and 50 bucks later i gots me another 360 that still has the warranty label intact so if them red rings come at me i'll call MS next time...

still no issues with the new addition. left it running last night with the 6hr auto shutdown enabled and she fired up perfectly this morning. sometimes i have to press the eject button a few times to get it to open but i'm sure not complaining about it lol
