I tried extensively on the console, read all of the manuals, and quickly browsed a bunch of forum threads, surely it's easy to copy music folders and video files from a burned dvd to the 120 gig hard-drive right?

Im pretty sure the 360 doesnt support writing to the xbox 360 harddrive unless its downloadable content from LIVE or from a original game.

All content is uniquely signed for your console..
It also would stop hack attempts.

You can use a CD-R to transfer audio files, but you can only stream video files.

You CAN play Video content from DVD also, but not copy it to the Hard Drive.

Now that XVID and DIVX are supported you could look into a USB EXternal HDD so you can just dump everything onto it.

Or a network storage device which has both RJ45 Network and USB.
Best of both worlds then.

At the moment i stream my divx xvid or whatever files i want from my pc directly to my Xbox 360.. I just add a share.. Smile

enjoy the site all,
