Hello everyone, i just got a 360 that had 3 red lights, i fixed that using the X-clamp fix, well sorta, but it worked..anyways it boots but then goes straight to an update thing and i cant figure it out, i dont have any 360 games, i never had a 360, i downloaded and burned some update from microsoft but that dont work it just tells me “Can’t find the update disc. Please insert the disc” and then it says to go to thier support site and wont let me do anything, wondering if anyone seen this or knows how to make it go away. You'll have to get a game disc, and update off of it. Also think you can do it by hooking it up to the net.
i tried connecting it to the net, but it dont do nothin, does it matter what game? or like a newer game or somethin? _________________________________________________________

if you need help connecting your 360 to the net we will do our best to help ya out.. Thats probably the easiest way and that way you will get all updates as they are needed...
If you have a router/modem it isnt hard to setup eitherway.
dunno, called m$ and they are stupid argued with them for four hours while they told me to do the same thing over and over and that call of duty 4 was not backwards compatible with the xbox 360 system and what not, it dont load the dash it immediatly goes to purplish screen that say update then cant find disc please insert disk, then cant go no farther....gonna just try to exchange it for new one. _________________________________________________________

Dude connect your xbox to xbox live. Make a silver account (its free) and then it will have you download every dash update+ game patch (when you play a game it will patch that game). _________________________________________________________
it wont do that, like i said before, it wont go any further than booting up and after the ball thing it goes straight to this update screen, how would i make a live account without getting to the dash? _________________________________________________________

ok so a new possiblility came about that it could be the actual os on the 360, would there be a way to replace that or update it somehow? _________________________________________________________
