ok, when i replace the clamps with machine bolts and washers...then i get to the step where you turn it on without a fan and wait till then lights go to 2 red lights do i then turn it off, or leave it on with the 2 lights? im confused, do i need to let it overheat with the 2 red lights for 3-4 minutes, or does it take 3-4 minutes for the lights to pop on?

2 red lights came up on mine within a couple of minutes. I then pulled the power as soon as the 2 red lights came on. Tightened the bolts up a little and then hooked everthing back up and fired that puppy back up. So far so good.

You can watch the video on the official x-clamp-fix.com website anyway if you r unsure on anything..

Once you have fitted the xclamp and leave the fans disconnected It sometimes takes over 2-3 minutes before the console overheats.. I think it took near 4 minutes for mine.

I then tightened it up extremely hard and my xbox 360 was back to normal again..

this is what i did also, i was just wondering if i was supposed to leave it going with the 2 red lights blinking or just immediately turn it off when it went to 2 lights (which i did) and tighten it down. that worked, but i wanted to make sure i did the best method.

ps. i didnt see an instructional video on that website.

It says to let it go for a few minutes once it hits 2rol, but in your case it worked fine.
