i was trying to find a you tube video on how to repair the dvd drive, but just in general how rubbish is the 360? looking at thermal past replacement tutorials and the taking apart tuts and the x clamp repair how have mircosoft gotten away with such a cheap piece of crud? im amazed at the fact that its pretty easy to open up, really amazed the dvd drive is held in place by a bit of tape and just astonished at the sheer number of repair videos on you tube, if i bother to get a 360 my plan will be to take it apart, replace the paste put in better fans and try to get it set so that i wont experiance any of the troubles im sure some of you (and many of my friends) have had. The first xbox if im right is quite reliable durable and sturdy one of the reasons i preffered it over the ps2, asides from the 360 live im not sure if getting a ps3 will be the way to go

I totally agree with you but they rushed the 360 into production way too quick and im sure you all know why.. lol.. PS3. Do you think it worked? lmfao.. Well it obviously helped.. Im sure everyone has seen the latest sales figures. Since the 360 was released first developers got a headstart and so did 360 with all the new features and online services.
Personally I feel it all comes down to luck with the consoles and RROD.
Its been Bad luck for M$ for rushing the 360 and therefore a bit of bad luck for the consumer too but in the end the gamer wins.I'm glad they rushed it as its pushing the games industry even further.
You have to remember that they have also increased the warranty and most if not all of the latest release 360 consoles dont have many issues at all.
I only just posted like yesterday about my original USA Launch console from NOV 2005 that only just played up. 40,000 gamerpoints + lol So i can t complain at all.

The first xbox was one of the best consoles ive ever purchased and you rarely hear of problems unless someone has been messing around with it....
I still have my original XBOX 1 console right here in my living room area.. lol But you have to remember that M$ lost alot of money to prove they could provide a fantastic product far superior to SONY. My original XBOX 1 is proof of that and they used to lose lots of money everytime they sold the original xbox 1.

didnt realise that as i was a late starter last gen and a late starter this gen, i still do respect the 360, hardware issues aside i do see it as the best of this gen at the moment,(ive had differing opinions on if the wii is a next gen console as it really is last gen) as i have deep seeded loathing of sony which i am always ready to point out, the only reason i had a psp was for homebrew and being able to use it to control my pc from my bed

Like hobbs mentioned i think it is a luck thing...
My 360 has just turned 1 and has had around 3000hrs use over this period. No problems at all yet....
I bought my 2 son's xbox360's also and while one is still sweet after 6 months the other hasa been returned to M.S for the heatsink prob once and a drive problem the other.
Still without a doubt the 360 is the best invstment i have made and comparing it to any sony device or the urine console is just criminal...lmao...

The 360 is the best gaming investment youve made or the best all around investment?
I have a elite 360 and love it. I also have a wii and love it. I will probably wait until the PS3 goes down significantly in price and then I will have it and love it. I am a gamer. I could care less who makes it as long as it works and has kick ass games. _________________________________________________________
