|
|
On Monday, September 3, 2007, Steve Fossett, the first person to fly a plane around the world without refueling and the first person to fly around the world in a balloon went missing in Nevada. An airplane he was flying failed to return. No one has any idea where he is.
Through the generous efforts of individuals at several organizations, detailed satellite imagery has been made available for his last known whereabouts.
Here is a site set up by GEOEYE,
http://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=9TSZK4G35XEZJZG21T60
a satalite imaging company, it us being hosted through amazon, you go to the site and sign in to your amazon account or quickly sign up. then read the short instructions.
It will give you a recent sat image of a tiney section of search area, it is brought up randomly by computer, you look it over and if you see something that could be a plane or wreckage you flag and tag it for further review, if not you hit the SKIP HIT and look at next image.
We could use all the help we can get, you just might be the one to find steve, it is possible he may still be alive but if so the area is very hot and harsh, so time is not on our side, so if you get some free time please take a look, and pass on to your friends, myspace other forums etc., there is like 40,000 square kilometeres of search area, and it only takes one sharp eyed person to make the find.
Any way thanks guys, catch ya later. please pass it on
