Well I haven't been on in ahwile because of mid terms and my computer crashing so first of all let me say its good to get back to the hq...
I know some of the administrators remember my first story of amazing luck but I will recap in case anyone new reads this..
I have a modded 360 and got banned (violins in the back ground, tear in my eye).. I walked into the Charleston (SC) mall and see a game called the stacker... 10 dollers later I have a brand new 360 core system in my hands.. bye bye ban!!! (two 360's really does look good in an entertainment system:)
Well this one will blow that one away!! And probably make a few of you sick as well..
I have had the same computer at home forever (1.3 ghz, 526 megs or ram etc). Nothing fancy but it got the job done.. Well it finally decided that it was down for the count so I decided to order a new one from Dell.
I picked out a refurbised XPS 710 series and had to skimp on things I really would have loved to have because I have a wife, 2 kids, and a house payment (translation: I am one broke white guy!). So I only spent (borrowed) about $1500.00
Well two days later I get a call from Dell saying that the computer tower left their shop before it could be put through the tests and so they needed me to ship it back as soon as it came in.. (BUMMER) The guy said that they would upgrade me in some way so I asked for a tv tuner to be put in and his reply was "we will see what we can do".
Well much to my suprise 3 days later I recieve a BRAND frickin NEW XPS 720 series with a QUAD CORE 2.4 ghz processor, 4 gigs of ram, a 500 gig sata hd, a 768 mgz nvidia video card, and the tv tuner with remote....They upgraded EVERYTHING!! The dang tower alone would have cost me $3500.00 and I didnt' have to pay a penny more than my original $1500....I FRIKIN LOVE DELL!! anyway I just had to share that with you guys.. The machine is a BEAST.. I had to hand truck it out to my truck from the fed ex place..

well i have a brand new 710 xps system. the darn thing cost me 2.300 dollars. just for the 2.66 e6600 core 2 duo , 4 gb ram , 320 hdd sata
huge btx case hehe. nvidia 7900 gs and a 19 in monitor
i just wish it had that quad core in it . but im amazed about what i could do with it...
overclock at 2.9 Ghz running at 2.1 volts stable

yes you are correct , I feel sick. my pc is a P.O.S and have been dreaming of a good computer for some time. heck even my crapy video card has gone bad. Send some of that luck my way dude.

Dang, you should sell me one of the 8800's in there, if they gave you SLI... That would defer the cost a little more. lol _________________________________________________________

True, I don't blame you. I was half kidding, too. Wait till they get some decent drivers for vista, and some direct x10 games...You'll definatly want all that power. _________________________________________________________

Yeah I got it with xp media center for now.. Not to sure about Vista yet.
