Apparently the 360 has a sensitive ethernet port. My nephews stopped working like a month ago and I was wondering if there were any solutions out there. It fails the network test immediatelly.
If all else fails I'll buy it from him for like 50 bucks and mod it or use it as a media machine via usb drives.
Send it to microsoft or you could replace the ethernet port. Just desolder the point from the board and solder in a new ethernet port. I think scarface did this about a year ago, but I don't remember how it turned out. You might want to send him a pm about it. _________________________________________________________

They already decided to buy a new arcade, as the price difference to microsoft fixing it isn't so much now with the price drop, and this way I don't void their warranty. I modded my own, but I'm not comfortable blowing up someone elses functional machine, or the risk of it at any rate.
Thanks for the reply, I'd thought about changing it, but I read somewhere about fuses and chips(this guy had some serious issues with his box) and thought to myself, "I really suck at soldering small stuff."
I may try that, if/when I get it from him I'll open it and dive in with a multimeter and such. I've read that it's possible to have the same faults as the rest of the board, solder cracks and such. For now I'll hope it's something that simple.
