I like the achievements for the fun and the challenge, as for gamer score, I couldnt care less if they did away with it totaly.
Achievements = fun
Gamer score = whats the point
As a matter of fact I would love to set my gamer cards as 0 Gamer score for good. Or at least be able to opt out of gamer score recording. I feel like I am being forced to participate in a show and tell I dont care about. All my gamer score are on my offline account anyway, no one sees it there, and my online account says 40, even though I have nearly 9k on my other.
I like the achievements. Like my oblivion achievements showing how dedicated I was to the game. I almost got all the achievements except for two and one of those two I didn't get because of a bug in the troll cave. The other one was duke of dementia or something like that and that is a choose one or the other thing. I chose the other so I didn't get the other. Anyhow do the achievements make a game more enjoyable? I say yes because they make you reach for that one last green ding. Kinda like everquest used to do when I was leveling. The gamerscore on the other hand means what? Nothing. You can't trade them in for microsoft points which I think is stupid. So achievements good and gamerscore bad. _________________________________________________________

Just go back and play it again and choose the other thing. You'll get the achievement, I did. Totally agree! Achievements are fun and a great personal goal if it is reasonable (an example of unreasonable would be Final Fantasy XI) but I think you should have an option to not have gamescore, but it will still show which achievements you unlocked. I think that the gamer points should stay I wouldn't play half my games if I couldn't get the points it does make playing games funner because you try and get the achievments and some of them are hard to get so it makes the game harder.
Anyways i find it stupid if people are buying two drifferent versions of the game whats the point why waste your money on buying the same game twice.

I reached my goal of 100K and then sold my GT for $300, used it to buy an HDTV! I realized the futileness of it and now just play games for fun, although every now and again, I'll play a game to boost it a little, since it's was so pathetically low after I had to start over!

yep yep, we have lots of guys on here who sold their tags too.. Im hoping you got your points the legitmate way unlike most.. I've had my 360 since it launched in the USA and im still only 60,000 or so.. I love achievements but not that much!..

there is a flip side, i use to play a game through and if i liked it id play it again, i have found with games i enjoyed playing through a few times, if the achievements are done badly make me not want to bother playing the game again cos i dont see the point not getting achievements, any ways ive lost interest in achievements i cant be bothered nemore, i play a game for gameplay and storyline, i dont need an achievement to tell me im good at the game cos i know it! id like a simpler achievement system, so you could actually guage how good someone is via their gamer score, it annoys me cos im bad ass at games, just cos i ainto got a 1000gs on it dont mean i wont kick ur ass, or that ur better at it then me.... slaving urself to tiny little task dont make u better at the game overall

My friend said that you can get gamerpoints from some pc games also, which in my opinion makes them crap.
