i read a news article on 360-hq.com and it was talking about how some game producers/developers were not happy with the direction achievements have gone. some people do have a ridiculous gamerscore, and i'm hoping that's because they enjoy gaming, but i have looked at some gamer's cards and i see the same game listed two or three times with max points or close to it. enchanted arms is a common title. idk how people are doing this, i dont want to know how people are doing it, and i think the people should stop. it's no fun when people cheat.
back to the news article. i dont think M$ would eliminate achievements, it has become an integral part of gaming on the xbox 360 and it makes playign games fun. it gives gamers more reason to play games over again and ot make gamers do things they may not have thought of doing. i think they should stay. what do you guys think? should gamerscore stay? have you guys noticed multiple game titles with the same name on gamer's cards or any other issues related to gamerscore points?

Yeh, its sad isnt it.. These people go and buy two versions of the same game.. One probably NTSC American and the other like some german version... It's a joke.
I did read somewhere how they do it.. Its not too difficult, you just need to find which games do it with double achievements.

You can check out my gamerscore.. I only go for points because i enjoy gaming and i certainly enjoy finishing a game in full with achievements.
You wont find two copies of the same game here.
I really enjoy finishing the games as they were intended by the game developer.. The achievements are just iceing on the cake.
If there were no achievements more then likely i would only play my games once all the way through and never play them again.. lmao.. That's such a waste in my eyes and why i love achievements so much more. It gives you many hrs of chasing achievements.

Stay, for sure.. They just need to ban cheaters.
I know plenty of people who have the same game twice.. They are just glory hunters and not true gamers.

I think achievements give game replayabilty factor. Plus if u dont like the idea of them just ignore them. People over think things at times.

i couldn't agree with you more hobbs, the achievements are meant to make games more enjoyable and to increase replayability. anyone else have an opinion?

I like achievements, but I have to admit...they make me play games that I normally wouldn't play or play longer than I would normally play on a particular game. I guess it's just the competitive nature in me. I'm trying to get 100k.
Its all good man, let them cheat and maybe xbox live will ban them for it one day but when i see a game in the list twice or a 50+ kill streak in call of duty i don't bother looking at there game card anymore.
Achievements can make a game last twice as long so they need to stay, if i ran MS i wouldn't ban the cheaters just when i find one replace the gamer score with ( B.S.S.) bull $**t score so they have to face the fact they defeat the purpose of the achievement's option and don't deserve to be in the same ranks as fair play gamers.
One of the main things that made me over look the PS3 as an option is that xbox monitors the on line play and Sony lets it run a muck making on line play worthless.

Like I have said before achievements are a personal thing for me and I dont care if someone has 10 times the points that I have or that they cheated their way to get that many points. I honestly couldnt care less about it. People may say im old fasioned but i play games just to play games. I like completing stories and careers and in general doing what the game was made for. Who cares the random points and such that is generated its just fun.
I have played a hell of alot of counterstrike over my years and what do you get for doing well in that game? Nothing but the enjoyment of blowing peoples faces apart. _________________________________________________________ Hai.
