Yeah Well I've been on the way to modding an Xbox360, flashed the firmware, made full rips with wxripper, SSmerger isn't much help though, it can never make contact with the server to verify that I have the correct SS file and that it's going to the correct place, anyone have any advice i would apreciate it...anyhoo, about a month after flashing the firmware and 2 weeks after applying the latest backwards compatibility update from microsoft the console spat the dummy mid way through a game after several hours of play, error 0102, the best advise I could find on any forum was the remove tha mainboard and blast it with a heat gun......yeah right ...I decided to make that plan Z and try anything else I could think of first, I figured if this poorly cooled console can get hot enough to weaken a solder join to a critical component, perhaps it would get hot enough to correct it, turned it on, left it sit for at least 1 hour, maybe two....I had a nap don't remember exactly how long, I was tired from fixing various pieces of crap at work all day, woke up, turned it off and on again...error gone, has now worked without a hitch for 2-3 weeks....MWAHAHAHAHA

Im sure it will inspire other users with similar issues to try it.
the SS Merger site has been shutdown from what i am aware.
Most people use XBC to make backups these days.

Now, i know this sounds REALLY odd, but believe it or not, error 0102 is easily fixed by wrapping a towel around your 360 and leaving it overnight. That's right i said a TOWEL, regular bath towel will do. What happens is the towel traps the heat in the xbox and does the resoldering of the broken joints.
I know it sounds REALLY weird, but apparently it works. _________________________________________________________ Predtech

Sorry for the late reply I was away. I have first seen the eraser trick on that tech support site. But after a quick search on google I have seen it in other forums, it really helps its been almost a month now and my Xbox 360 still works. I just can't believe Ms will have so many problems with the xbox 360 on my regular Xbox I had no problem and it works until now.
