Put it this way.. I went to all the trouble of installing a modchip hoping that homebrew wouldnt be far away but im still waiting..
Im even thinking abuot removing my mod and flashing the firmware so atleast then i can play backups of my original xbox 1 games too..
With the modchip i have currently installed all lit does is allow you to boot backups..
Lastly a tip:
Modchips have a different security sector to firmware flashing.
Therefore you have to make your backups different to everyone else and it can be a drama.
If you want homebrew and think installing a mod will allow you to do it at this stage i would have to say dont bother.. If you just want to backup your investment go for it.
cool thanks guys i guess its firmware for now , now how about that blaster 360 or the 360 usb the blaster is for firmware and iconect hdd do you think i should use this to flash ?

A word of warning...... Do not attempt to chip a Hitachi drive its a complete nightmare! Your best bet is to flash the firmware although if your rom version is a 78FK its a little trickier than normal but can be done.

I would go for firmware definately.. There are more features every release of a hacked firmware like playing XBOX 1 backups on your 360 etc etc.. I could go on.
With a current xbox 360 modchip all it allows you to do is play backups of your XBOX 360 games.. I have nothing but trouble creating backups for my modded machine and really wish i had flashed the firmware.
Now i have to remove my modchip and flash it.. Thats what i plan to do.
Ill be reviewing a new product called:
- XENO TOP GEAR
What is the point of a 360 mod chip even? It cant do anything special. Can we look forward to hacked bios's, dash's, ETC in the future? _________________________________________________________

Hey guys, just a quick clarification that I can't find anywhere else:
Will the Blaster 360 play backups after being installed, or do you HAVE to flash the firmware of the DVD drive with a new one before it'll play them? Thanks

the BLASTER 360 is an ADD-on HARDWARE for your 360 to let you flash your dvd firmware easier. without ever having to open the 360 again..
that means for you to install the blaster360 u have to open the 360 that time only. and u can flash your dvd drive faster and easier....
Q. do i think the Blaster360 is worth it?
A.. well not really is just something that helps you upgrade your firmware on the dvd drive faster. without having to open up your console. i also think it makes your 30 looks sexy lol.. no not really . but you gotta give some credit on the guys that made this little tool. is really nice if you dont wanna be on the hassel of opeing your 360 every time a new firmware comes up. now days we get a new firmware or bug fix ona old one or that the developer added something that he forgot every month with is funny..
Cons . well the Blaster360 goes for 50+ bucks and u can get a VIA CHIP SATA CARD for 20 buck .
you d othe math....
goodluck on your choice. _________________________________________________________ HQ Lord Nikon 1b4
