My son's wireless controller keeps turning off. We've tried brand-new batteries, used the rechargeable battery from plug n play kit, with and without the charging cable plugged in.
OK, I admit it! I HATE reading instructions! The controllers seemed to be mated to the consoles... my controllers don't work on his and his don't work on mine. How can this be undone?
Is the controller screwed up? Is it the console? The game????

try connecting the controller and pressing the little tiny button where you normally plug in the play and charge kit.. That little button should reset your controller to be picked up again by any console.
Then i think you also have to press the button on the very front of your 360 to sync them up..
hopefully that helps.. Im no expert just yet myself.
I hate reading too lol

Correct FH. To connect the controllers all you have to do is push the little button at the top of the controller and the little button on the front of the 360 at the same time and they sync up perfectly. They brought this function into play so you could bring your controller to your mates house to play there as well at home.
