Hi guys,
AneglosDracul let me know of a friend of his who is having nothing but troubles with his 360 CORE.. (not premium.. hehhe).
I have noticed that most guys have the CORE unit who are complaining.. Can anyone link us to problems with a premium being reported?? If not ive got one comment.. You get what you pay for..
I will attach a pic of a brand new 360 game which has been ruined in about 15-20 mins.. My god.. As if you wouldnt hear it destroying your media.... But then again.. It is a loud console from reports..
This quote is from JuStRoYaL:

im really getting sick of not being able to play my 360 now it locks up everytime i turn it on and i went to the post nevens put up im not the only one it messed up a game to. i can now play PDZ for 10 to15 min before it locks up shut it off and it is still locked up it is in the middle of the room up off the floor so i know it can not over heat i will not put call of duty in it already ruined one of my games. oh yea they will be getting a call from me again for the 5th time
HERE IS A PICTURE OF WHAT MY XBOX DOES BEST BLINK 3 RED LIGHTS AT ME ALL THE TIME I ALWAYS HAVE A PICTURE OF WHAT IT DID TO MY DISK..
Yeah, my boy was PISSED when PDZ f00ked up. But here's the kicker. He contacted M$ 3 times. The first time they were cordial and polite. The Second time he contacted them, they got a bit ... lippy with him... the third time, they outright accused him of doing it himself, Saying it's HIS fault the 360 screwed up. How about that? Customer service with a smile!
I love the concept of the 360, but I might have to take a boycott a la Blighty style. They're starting to piss me off. And I'd be dissapointed if I paid for my damned warranty and they accused me of damaging my xbox that they SOLD TO ME TO BETA TEST!!!
Of course, I'm buying the premium system in Jan or Feb. So, by then, they should have a new shelf model out (1.1?) and it should be less buggy.... But damn... a system chewing a disc like that is rediculous! _________________________________________________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Did I read somewhere that having it horizontal did this to the discs? I think it was because they were basically saying have it vertical because of heat problems and this if I'm right.

I voted in the poll and the 360 has NOT damaged any disks. I have it horizontal. _________________________________________________________ Xbox 360 #2

I dont know-
as you all know- i actully dished out more money for my system since i bought myself the core, a hard drive, and wireless controller, and a headset.
And honestly- my system has suffered form ZERO problems- it been on for 14 hours now (at the longest), and is still going good. No problems ever.
I have it set Horizontily and no damage to my disc's.
The consoles i've notes to F-up are the premuims. To buddy's here at school bought premuims- they tryed rubbing it in my face untill when one took his out the box- INSTANT ERROR- and the other guys over heats easily.
Strange eh?

Perhaps it's like fast food, 1 billion sold and 500,000 were dropped on the floor then put back on a bun. So you hear the complaints of the bugs in the burgers but the remainder do what they are supposed to without issue? Or perhaps it's just one dude that all these f'd up boxes passed by for quality check that was there to draw the paycheck but not do the work.
Either way, gouges in new game disks suck. No doubt. I'd bitch about mine but it's fine, it's still in some box somewhere at some store in some city waiting for me to buy it, but it's fine. _________________________________________________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Just like any console that has a disc tray. You cant move the console or change its orientation while its running. I wonder if they were trying to set it to vertical from horizontal or vise-versa. the only system i know that you could do that with was the sega cdx, playstation, dreamcast, and thats cause the discs lock onto the spindle. I have had my xbox running without hitting the power button for almost a week now.(I have been known to leave my original xbox on for a month, drives my buddies online crazy thinking im on, haha) So my opinion, try to put your box where it can rest undisturbed, with a source or fresh air to keep from overheating. (I know it sucks but hey, It's either that or continue to post about all the problems your having). Well guys good luck and hope that helps some.

I have not yet seen the console myself, being in the sucky UK we dont get em till tomorrow (and even then my local gamestation is only getting 17 instead of the promised 56 but that irrelivant) but is there anything on the console that you need to set depending whether it is vertical or horisontal, like on the old PS2? On the PS2 i found it always scratched my discs to hell if the console was vertical unless you actually turned the PS2 logo on the disc tray to the correct orientation.
I noticed it only freezes with Project Gothem - and my console was NOT even the slightest bit warm. AND I noticed a couple slight circular scratches on the outer edge of the DVD... hmmmmm
