The above quote was in a c|net news article, if the above quote is true why did it require a software update to enable the 360 to output 1080p.
If the 360 does hardware up scaling, why was this not enabled at release, either 1080p was held back until the PS3 was released, so MS could say "look we do it and we do it right". Or the up scaling is done by software, which is why the HDD add on is so resource hungry and this chip is just used to send the up scaled signal to the output leads.
Any one knows enough about the hardware side of HD to comment on this. _________________________________________________________
