just got the Xbox360 & the cable that comes with it isn't SCART
just the standard RCA cables, do they do a scart lead for it? does it improve pic quality?
at the mo I have used the little scart plug that came with my original Xbox (version 1) to put on the end of the RCA cable to turn it into scart
is doing this ok or can it hinder pics quality as i have not tried it without it as yet

Original 360 cables come with the composite to scart adapter that your currently using, the one that came with the 360 seems a better quality one than the one that came with the xbox imho. If you are using an adapter make sure it's fully wired. The easiest way is to check that all the pins are there.
I personally use component cables to connect to my TV, and use an optical cable to send the sound to my surround amp.
Unless you’re sending a HD signal (even 480p. I know it's not a true HD signal, but as my TV is a tube TV which can handle progressive scan its the best I can do) I think your connection is fine.
What type of inputs does you TV have, what size is it?
Just found this link gamespot its related to the Wii but the principle is the same. _________________________________________________________

thanks again for your help eltsha
rite so is component cable the scart cable
and composite cable the RCA one (white, yellow & red plugs)
i didn't get a RCA to scart adaptor with my 360, should i have done then?
i use a 32" widescreen CRT TV
think im best sticking with what i have, or maybe buy a genuine 360 scart cable
what offers the better pic? scart or RCA
(i couldn't figure out which was which on the gamespot site! lol)
sorry for my thickness! lol

Component cable split the image into the Red Blue and Green there is no sound, so you have to connect to an amp via optical.
Composite cable have a single lead for the picture and one for the left sound channell and one for the right sound channel.
IMHO i think you will not notice any difference if you change your cables. Unless your TV can handle component input save your money for a new game. _________________________________________________________

You and me both, my mum's got a HD ready TV and every so often i take my 360 round (when's she away for the weekend) and me and my brother sit and have a blast. The best my TV can handle is 480p, still looks better than when it was connected up by scart.
Not tried GOW yet on a HD TV, that will look amazing. _________________________________________________________
