Moments ago on the oficial Xbox twitter:
"Today we announced changes to #XboxOne on how you can play, share, loan & resell games same as you do on #Xbox360."
And on Microsoft News:
Quote:
For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.
Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback. I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One.
You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.
So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:
An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.
These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.
We appreciate your passion, support and willingness to challenge the assumptions of digital licensing and connectivity. While we believe that the majority of people will play games online and access the cloud for both games and entertainment, we will give consumers the choice of both physical and digital content. We have listened and we have heard loud and clear from your feedback that you want the best of both worlds.
Thank you again for your candid feedback. Our team remains committed to listening, taking feedback and delivering a great product for you later this year.

wow...... That just blew my mind.
I think I'm still getting ps4 first. When Halo 5 comes out I will get Xbox One.
wow that surprises me, just deal with it microsoft.
update 2 will say, "oh we see you go online, let just go back to plan A 24 hour checks and region locked for any console that connects"
i knew they were testing consumers maybe the nsa pressured them, damage might be done now ps4 is still cheaper and the cloud is just a 8 year theory right now, developers need to work harder to release x1 games, if people are just going to enjoy their games as they are on ps4 they wont bother making extra features for x1 unless they know its going to sell in huge numbers because of it. i think a large number of cloud featured games will be developed by microsoft themselves.
flashy doesnt make things better, content will make any game better, look at lifeline, its basically one of the only game using voice commands, and the idea is awesome but no one likes it for whatever reasons.
and you still have to install games to hdd, which is good for the optical drive, and the game needs to be in the drive to play even though youve installed it. good for speed but not for space as you cant change the hard drive out.
still all software based crippleware.
i was looking forward to the x1 failing like a nutshot compilation on AFV, but i think they expected the same, who would have thought the consumer had that much power lol somewhere the terms will say subject to change at anytime..

I want to get a new console when they come out. Normally I would default to Xbox, but they pissed me off so made the decision to go with PS4. Now I am glad they have decided to reverse their decisions on the xbox one policies rather then go bankrupt, but its too late. I think I will give PS4 a shot this time.

Same thing with PS4, all games must be installed in HDD I am pretty sure this has nothing to do with the durability of the drive but rather the speed. Even today companies tell us to install the game on the 360 HDD _________________________________________________________

I can't really believe people are shocked, I think that Amazon poll hurt their feelings.
I'm still going with the PS4 for the obvious reasons it's cheaper so I could buy a game and have the total under $500, if both consoles are forcing us to install games to the hdd still thats more of a reason why you'd want to be able to easily install a bigger hdd.
Props to the for listening to the consumers though. _________________________________________________________ The internet, a place where people expect you to know what they know.

To add if microsoft does make kinect 2 optional and lowers it to $400 I'll go with x1. _________________________________________________________ The internet, a place where people expect you to know what they know.

I dont believe the 2 are far enough apart technically to make a real noticeable difference. Im still going with the PS4 first for 2 reasons. 1... Its a better deal financially. 2... M$ statement kinda rubbed me the wrong way saying we WANT THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. Well, their competition didnt seem to think we were being too demanding..... Having said that, Ill most likely pick up the XboxOne when the price drops. Im happy all in all that they are making an attempt to be more competitive. ... It can only help us in the long run. _________________________________________________________ XENIUM ICE 300GIG CUSTOM DVD
