Microsoft's Don Mattrick has the answer for you!
Microsoft just keeps making things worse as the days go by. I wonder how much more they can shoot themselves in the foot at this point _________________________________________________________
when you think about it, its like asking apple what about the people who dont have mobile reception that want an iphone?
duh
xbox one is online at this point (untill someone hacks it, and i predict this will be easily hacked for free games and offline gaming as its data over the internet it wont need to be modded, only tricked. hell custom firmware/updates could be installed this way if someone can spoof the server). its like asking what about people who dont have electricity.

i bet the revised version of xboxone comoes out within 6 months after launch with an all new case design, a software update to exclude kinect, packages that dont include kinect bundled, but the drm will still require internet as they have made this machine too dependent on the internet, sales will be lower than they expect as more people talk about the drm as evil, im getting worked up over it now and i probably wont ever play one, i shouldnt care but i dont like thinking about all those people who do buy one getting forced into yet another m$ epic adventure of messyness,
look at ms office over the last 15 years making companies upgrade every year so they can keep using/updating their files, i compare it to the mafia protection for the corner store, stop paying us money and your company will burn.
the xboxone will tie you in, dont pay for the cloud features and your games will suck. they are games!!!!!! people just want to play them, not be dragged into the internet and register the crap out of everything, have your picture taken by skynet and your details recorded in the cloud if you want that or not.
If you look at Microsoft as a whole lately, they have been forcing features on people that most of the install base doesn't really want. It's like saying "We can do whatever we want and people will still buy our products".
For example, look at Windows 8. Almost no one I know that has Windows 8 likes Metro. The ones that do like Metro still wish they had the ability to use the start menu in the desktop mode. Microsoft went and added the start menu back into SP1, but all it does is allow you to launch Metro apps (if I remember correctly). Which pretty much doesn't change anything.
Microsoft is doing the same thing with the Xbox One as it's doing with Windows 8. After the backlash in the last few weeks, I would have thought that Microsoft would be backpedaling by now since all of controversial decisions are software based. But they are sticking to their decisions because they think people will still buy the console no matter what they do.
I predict Microsoft will fall into the same trap that Sony did with the PS3. When Sony put the PS3 on the market at $600, they seemed to have the mindset that no matter what they did, people would buy the console. Lo and behold, the PS3 sold horribly until the price dropped into a reasonable range. _________________________________________________________

That's good logic.
I'm not sure about other countries but USA is very behind in the high speed internet department. So I do think it may be premature to force having the internet connection. That is not a good thing and will lose a ton of sales.
Like one of the posts above syas, let's hope MS wises up because not everyone that does not have an internet connect is going to settle for a last generation console and they will just choose PS4 or whatever Nintendo is currently offering.
The real reason Microsoft wants this internet thing always on is because they have allot of faith in the cloud processing and so do I and I am totally qualified to speak about cloud computing.
Since I have a decent internet connection I look forward to it. The problem , at least here in US and I'm sure in some other countries, is that there is still too many without internet or slow internet like dial up.
I know NH is currently doing a massive campaign on putting fiber optics across the entire state but this won't even be completed for at least 3 years. my my _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

That would never happen at a reputable ISP. Of course, you have hurricanes, tornados, floods, NorthEasters/blizzards or the occasional tree that falls on your house or power lines... but guess what? You won't be playing games during those situations anyway. Anyhow, since the cloud use is all software related, it is totally possible to have games run without the cloud enhancements during down time scenarios. There's no reason to hate the cloud. _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

Actually isn't the Xbox one trying to push real time weather? _________________________________________________________ The internet, a place where people expect you to know what they know.
