It will be a hash/decypt key I would believe. I think all they want to do is make sure you don't go live with a burnt game. The disc/game will have a hashtag with it, and you will be given a decrypt key to enter on each console you play. that key you put in will be one and only, just like downloading maps for your favorite game. Its registered once, so no sharing the key with someone else. If you use the key with another ORIGINAL but different copy of the game, it wont authorize and no play. I really dont belive it will be a steam box idea of just downloading games. We still as a general rule like to hold our discs as its a value to us. If its strictly digital, sales will plummet except for a few games like COD,GOW,etc..

The only way they can force that is by requesting an internet connection to every single console they sell. So games would be like Steam. Which is why I hate Steam games.
PS: No, I don't think you can resell it on EU
I agree. Unless they install a DVD burner with every xbox and make part of the DVD writable, with no internet connection how can they tell if the game is used. The key's will only be for online play.
The companies lose more money through second hand sales than piracy, so they have to try and do something to re-coup the cost.
Maybe they could try and makes games worth the money they sell them for???? _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

I could support no more second hand games only if the normal new game price was between $20 - $40 but for $60 for most games , that's ridiculousness! Bumm Crackers!
On the only digital download tip - Actually, would it be wise to convert to all game sales as digital only? What would all the retail stores sell? Vaperware? and Christmas presents would suck. Tangible is always better overall you can not get rid of them entirely and sill make good profits. _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!

It's like pre-ordering Simcity (digital) for $79.99? WTF! There is no way I will buy it that way. Then they bitch about piracy.... _________________________________________________________

I got a friend that probably would spend that much but the highest I'd ever spend a game on is 20-40.
