No, you can upgrade RAM and harddrive only
Do you mean you cannot upgrade the processor just on that laptop???
I have a Dell 1545 and upgraded the processor from a 2Ghz T4200 to a 2.5Ghz P8700, was easy peasy... compared to a PC, just a couple of screws and it is easily accesible from the bottom. Just need to check what slot your processor is, mine is a Penryth. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.

@Div you were lucky, most of laptops have nonreplaceable, soldered-in CPUs
@kennethk Ram is very important, if not the most important thing for speed.
I like powerful CPUs when I am edition videos and converting them _________________________________________________________

So 1.90GHz is a pretty decent CPU for a laptop?
Do laptops need specific Ram (EG: Can only use the kind the company suggests or can you use any brand?
Heres what I have but not exact mine came with a 320 hdd

You don't have to go with who the manufacturer recommends, as long as your laptop supports DDR3 1333 then it will be fine.
As for upgrading the laptop by 500Mhz, probably wouldn't notice much difference, i didn't. It's not so much the speed, is it a Dual Core/Core Duo/i3 etc... They have difference infrastructures, you could get another 1.9Ghz processor and it could be better as it may have a better L2 cache and possibly a L3 cache.
I don't know the effects of L2 and L3 cache, but it was something i looked into when updating mine. _________________________________________________________ Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one and your's stinks.
Honestly Ken theres not much point with a 1.9Ghz CPU going up to 8GB of RAM. What would you be doing that would require that much RAM that wouldnt bottleneck on the CPU. Highlevel video work etc would take forever with just 1.9Ghz, especialy if its a single core or one of the lower end CPUs like the Pentium line.

I didnt think so, maybe it'd just be smart to save up for a 1tb drive or a 500gb might even be fine.
But still for $25 why not?

@Kennethk, just look up your laptop model at the manufacturers website to find out if you can upgrade the CPU. Every Dell laptop I have touched can upgrade the processor like a snap of the fingers. Some Toshiba's can do so and so can some Acers. Other than that idk _________________________________________________________ 10% VIP Discount (Coupon Code: HQ-VIP-001 ) - Signup for web hosting at www.TweakedHosting.com/clients/aff.php?aff=004 and earn the HQ network of sites recurring income!
