Black Mesa is a free fan created remake of Half Life 1 in the source engine using the source SDK. You must own Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source (I think) to be able to play the game.
So far the game has been great. I've played about 6 hours of it so far and am on the chapter "Power up", which is about halfway through the game since the remake has only been completed up through "Lamba Core" so far. Is anyone else playing this game? _________________________________________________________

Thanks for sharing... I will download it now.
About time someone made a remake (I wish there was one for X360) _________________________________________________________
You can play it with an Xbox controller, so I would say that is just as good as having it on the 360.
How are you liking it so far? I've beaten the entire thing and it was a great remake. I cannot wait for it to be finished (whenever that is). _________________________________________________________

You don't need HL2 or CS:Source, just open Steam and select tools - download Source Sdk Base 2007
That's all you need to play it.
@dartht33bagger I only played the begging, just to check it out. I am loving it, it's The Classic of games.
I wish they would remake HL: Opposing Force _________________________________________________________

The site lies then
I doubt Opposing Force will ever be remade - unless Valve does it themselves. It has already taken the Black Mesa dev team 8 years to get 14 chapters into Half-Life 1. Since they still need to finish Black Mesa, you can bet that it would be quite a few years before you saw an Opposing Force remake from them. _________________________________________________________

Not it does not, that was all I had to do to play it.
BTW is the game not finished??? _________________________________________________________
Nope, the game is only up through chapter 14 "lambda core" right now. Once you get into the teleporter the game says "To be continued" because they haven't completed Xen yet. _________________________________________________________

Any chance you played a beta version? Because there is footage of the ending in youtube. _________________________________________________________
