Hey guys name is Nick. Just joined the site as I've been modding and fixing 360's for people for a while now. Wanting to learn more as I just bought what I believe is a Falcon console but it's confusing. The GPU chip number is x810480-001. It looks like the Falcon Board but has the Copper Pipe CPU heatsink. It does have the upgraded GPU heatsink. On the back where the A/V-HDMI hookup is it has a mfg date of 2008-01-26 and it says 12V---16,5A; 5V---1A but where the power cord hooks up it says ---12V DC, 14.2A; 5Vsb, 1A which confuses me. Can anyone shed any light and tell me if I do indeed have the Falcon Console? I found a picture on the internet that shows the different boards power supply and from that picture I do have a Falcon HDMI board, I just want to make sure.
I just bought it without any cables from a local kid and the seal was intact and he said it got one red ring and he bought a PS3 and I picked it up for $20.
Plans for the console are the XCM High Speed Air Cooler and XCM Core Cooler V2. Also going to mod the case maybe get the XCM Crystal Case for it. Plan on using Team Hybrids Ultimate X-Clamp Fix and add some RamSinks. I already modded the chassis to make the board sit flat so it won't flex as much when it heats up. Basically I want this thing to last.
My brother has my old console which was bought when the 360 first came out and I did the X-Clamp fix and it's still going strong. I heard the Falcon 360's were better about not over heating as much because they use less power.

If the power brick is 175W you have a Falcon _________________________________________________________
I bought the console only, didn't come with a power brick. Also I heard that going by the power brick isn't a reliable method of finding out the board type because some falcons shipped with the 203watt power brick.

It is because you cant boot a Xenon or Zypher with a 175W brick, only Falcon and Jasper consoles can run on such small power.
Anyway you can check it with a the motherboard.

Thanks for the link... I do have a Falcon board but it has the older style CPU heatsink. MFR date of 01-26-2008. Would going with the larger, newer CPU heatsink make much of a difference in temps?

If you sure thats a Falcon than somebody replaced the heat sink. If it matters? Hell Yah, thats the first thing you should do.
Install a new heatsink and if possible a whisper max fans.
Falcons have heat problems (E74) If you have with the old heat sink you are much and much more vulnerable to those problems _________________________________________________________
Well it has the newer GPU heatsink, but the older CPU heatsink. I'll get the never version of the GPU heatsink though and I am adding fans. Weird though because the box had never been opened, all the Microsoft seals were intact even the hold down tape for the DVD drive was attached. _________________________________________________________ Just picked up a Falcon HDMI console to fix and mod...

It is pretty easy to open a 360 without breaking the seals, I have done that before _________________________________________________________
Yea I can open a console and keep the seals intact too, but this was a young kid who really didn't even know about the seals. I had to take the faceplate off to show him. _________________________________________________________ Just picked up a Falcon HDMI console to fix and mod...
