So i just got over the 3rrod. other post...
so now i want to add small fans onto the metal shielding under the black plastic snap off...
also drilled a small hole into the plastic and metal to fit a thermometer into where the heatsink is.
The unit is sitting in a small tv stand with a shelf to split it into two holes. It is on the top shelf. Dimensions of hole 17 3/4 " W x 9 1/2" H x 16" D
There is a piece of cloth i put on there to keep my kid out of it and i have it pushed to the back of the opening sitting on two heatsinks.
Temps.
unplugged 89.9F
plugged/off 91.2F
on/idle 117.5F
game loaded onto hdd play sheet up 114.6F Sheet down 122.4F
What do you think. _________________________________________________________

Looks good to me, for a older console. I had my Xenon JTAG at 94.3C GPU, and it still works fine, other than my E74 error that I fixed. _________________________________________________________

Thats why I hate Xenons they get so hot... _________________________________________________________
Yeah, thats really the main cause of all their problems. Although I did manage to get my Xbox 360 fixed because it was overheating. Simply got pissed at it, and heated the crap out of it. Next thing I knew it was nice and cool. _________________________________________________________

I am traumatized with Xenon motherboards and when first got a Falcon I could feel the temp. difference when putting my hand next to the fans _________________________________________________________

Yeah, same here man. I keep mine nice and cool with the 100% (12v) fan patch (for JTAG's) and the Talismoon Whisper fans. _________________________________________________________
