So I started some paint. The back of the case (the solid black) is ready for one more coat of paint and then clear coat. The front of the case (cut out) only has one coat.
Sorry for the poor quality pics, took them around dusk, wasn't much light. I'll take better ones in the daylight when I progress more.
Lastly, here is what I'll be putting on the back of the case (attachment = the cake):
It is such a nice day out (and the baby is sleeping ) that I was able to do some work. Here are some pics of the progress. These were taken right after the paint was applied (one of them was taken with my phone, rest with an actual camera ). I think the fill turned out nicely. And, I'm pretty sure I'm going to leave the cutout side unfilled as I think it looks pretty ok as is
Well, I think I am coming down the home stretch here. Today, I cut out my stencil for the cake that I will be spray painting on and am adding the last coats of clear coat to the rest. Here are some pictures from today:
