Start up your Xbox, go to System Settings then go to Console Settings, and then highlight System Info, but dont click it. And you should see something that says "Dashboard" just post that on the forum and I will tell you if you can JTAG it, if the number is lower than 8xxx you can JTAG it, if it is 2.0.8498.0 you might be able to JTAG it, the only way to tell is to read the NAND and get the CB Version. _________________________________________________________

if i am not mistaken that is the newest dashboard and you can not jtag or chip it. only thing you could do is flash the dvd drive to play backup copys of your original purchased games. _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!

Sorry man. You can't do the JTAG hack. Ever since 8xxx and higher, MS blew a e-FUSE disabling the hack. There is nothing we can do about it. But as said above, you can firmware hack your DVD Drive. _________________________________________________________

A chip serves near same purpose as the JTAG, but if you updated your Xbox 360 8xxx or higher, you can't do either. What a chip basically does is let you choose between NAND's. _________________________________________________________

I would always say a chip.. Like LF has mentioned they allow you to change between NANDS which is very useful. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

Yeah, chips make your Xbox 360 alot more stable, the reason is simply because if something goes wrong with one of your NAND's, you can just switch over to the other one. Which is really useful because it is a major pain to re-flash everything. _________________________________________________________
